The transformations of education system in Poland also concern defence learning. They tend to increase more ethical aspects to it. The author describes the characteristic of education for safety & security including ethical aspects. Problems connected with defence education correlate with changes in the social life and influence its evolution. In the article there were discussed the transformations of views on education for safety & security. The author presents base program of comprehensive education with the ethical aspects of defence education.

Początki edukacji obronnej w polskim systemie kształcenia sięgają dwudziestolecia międzywojennego. W wyniku licznych zmian oświatowych ewoluowała ona wielokrotnie, aż do osiągnięcia obecnego kształtu realizowanego w systemie szkolnym, jak i pozaszkolnym. Wnikliwa analiza literatury przedmiotu, aktów prawnych oraz zbiorów archiwalnych pozwoliła ukazać różnorodność trendów odgrywających wiodącą rolę w sposobach jej realizacji, jak również w zakresach programowych. Kolejne przełomowe zmiany systemu edukacyjnego, które rodziły wielkie nadzieje na dokonanie istotnych zmian w nauczaniu edukacji dla bezpieczeństwa nie przyniosły niestety żadnych znaczących innowacji.

The research of this article refers to defence education realised in the Polish education system. Its origins and highlights are recaptured, as well as the recent trends. A careful analysis of the literature, legislation and archival collections allowed to show a variety of trends that play a leading role in the ways of its implementation, as well as in the curriculum planning. The recent ground-breaking changes in the education system, which bore great hope to make significant changes in the teaching of education for safety, did not in fact bring any significant innovation unfortunately.

Artykuł dotyczy przemian jakie dokonywały się w nauczaniu tematyki bezpieczeństwa na przestrzeni lat. Dokonano analizy pojęć stanowiących podstawę studiów nad edukacją dla bezpieczeństwa, wyjaśniono różnice znaczeniowe terminów „edukacja dla bezpieczeństwa”, „edukacja obronna”. Przeprowadzona została analiza zależności edukacji dla bezpieczeństwa z edukacją w ogóle i systemem bezpieczeństwa narodowego. Porównane zostały doświadczenia Czech i Polski w dostosowywaniu edukacji dla bezpieczeństwa do zmieniających się uwarunkowań politycznych.
