Przedmiotem noty jest książka Michaela Naasa The End of the World and Other Teachable Moments: Jacques Derrida’s Final Seminar poświęcona ostatniemu seminarium ojca dekonstrukcji.
In this article, the author attempts to describe the dialectical relationship between poetry and poem. This distinction seems to be as clear, as ambiguous and contradictory. The purpose of this article is therefore to unravel the problem, approaching it from two perspectives. Based on the analysis of a fragment of the poem Woda w garnuszku, Niagara i autoironia (“Water in the Pot, Niagara, and Self-Irony”), the author formulates a thesis of its illusiveness, as poem writing is a transgressive gesture, not subject to the finalization, made on the basis of an endless movement of formation and destruction. Hence the assumption that Różewicz’s only option, and even necessity, is writing. The second part of the article is devoted to the analysis of the line on the na obrzeżach poezji (“outskirts of poetry”), which addresses the problem of writing, or writability of text. The relation between poetry and poem is supplemented here by a third element, the function of the subject, which bearing the mark of the “original” act of exclusion, defines the eponymous “outskirts of poetry”, on the one hand determining the ambiguous boundary of the work (poem), and on the other – maintaining the relevance of the poem being recorded now.
In my paper I present a critique of Dorota Brylla’s interpretation of the dialogue by Nicholas of Cusa - De Deo abscondito, and a critique of her stance on apophatic theology. I consider Brylla’s position an exemplification of a more widespread philosophical point of view in terms of both the interpretation of Nicholas thought and the apophatic tradition as such. I also present an alternative reading of both his dialogue and apophatic theology. Finally, I point out some implications of adopting my position for philosophical theology and the philosophy of religion.

W niniejszym artykule autor w sposób innowacyjny próbuje zająć się kwestią ponowoczesnej dekonstrukcji znaczeń i sensu religii, a w szczególności chrześcijaństwa. Punktem wyjścia w owej analizie będzie próba rekonstrukcji samego pojęcia dekonstrukcji w odniesieniu do ważnego dla analizy socjologicznej pojęcia „porządku społecznego”. Typowe ponowoczesne doświadczenie kontyngencji zostaje w ten sposób zredukowane poprzez ponowne odkrycie treści chrześcijańskich i postmetafizycznych, co z kolei doprowadza do paradoksalnej dekonstrukcji samego procesu dekonstrukcji – czyli, samej ponowoczesności.

In this article the author is trying to bring up in an innovative way the question of the postmodern deconstruction of the meanings and sense of religion, and above all Christianity. Nowadays, as the stressing of the “dangerous” effects of postmodernity on Christianity seems to be an everyday occurrence, hardly anyone is willing to notice the other side of the issue. The author discusses the possibility of a deconstructive influence of Christianity upon postmodernity itself. The starting point of this analysis will be an attempt to analyze the term deconstruction itself, referring it to the important sociological term of “social order”. The author will try to point out that the mere theoretical proposition of a “culture without centre” or the idea of a “deconstructed Christianity” in fact ignores the communicative structure of society. Postmodernity is not only the next stage of the “destruction of metaphysics”, which leads to the relativism of all valid concepts that have meaning and sense in contemporary society. The Nietzschean and Heideggerian discourse of postmodernity forgets about such important phenomena of social life as the experience of “self-transcendence” and the importance in contemporary philosophy of “translating” metaphysical and sacral ideas into a secular language. Both phenomena prove though, that Western Civilization is cognitively bound to Christianity. The typical postmodern experience of contingency is reduced by the rediscovery of Christian and post-metaphysical contents, which ironically leads to a deconstruction of deconstruction itself – hence, postmodernity itself. This reversed deconstruction is confirmed by empirical research conducted in, among other countries, Germany and Austria. According to the author, it remains a social fact that people do not stop seeking deeper “truths”, which the deconstructed postmodern reality is not capable of offering. Right here – in the reality of a deconstructed society – new perspectives of social activity are opened for Christianity and its emphatical understanding of “truth”.

Focusing on the first couple of verses in Genesis (Gen 1–2:4), one can discover its amazingly performative character. The Word of God is creative and has effective power; it can be subject to the analysis of performative utterances by Austin, which seems to stress its significant character. Reading this text in light of deconstruction theory by Derrida leads us onto the path of fully performative interpretation of culture texts. Of course it is just an attempt, which is a little far-fetched but it still remains interesting and scientifically stimulating.
Chrześcijaństwo rozumie siebie jako religię logosu, czyli religię według rozumu. Osłabienie rozumu, czyli logosu, oznacza zatem osłabienie, a nawet zanik, życia chrześcijańskiego.

Christianity understands itself as a religion of logos, that is, a religion in accord with reason. Therefore, a weakening of reason, which is the logos, indicates a weakening, and even the degeneration of Christian life. In order to understand the truths of faith, philosophical arguments have been used. Deconstruction is a contemporary style of philosophical thought, which prevents understanding, for it serves not in the formulation of reasonable answers nor in demonstrating a lack of sense. Therefore, deconstruction demolishes the logocentric mode of thought that is “meaning,” “understanding” and “certainty.” Hence, it constitutes a threat to a life of faith that seeks understanding (fides quaerens intellectum).
The subject of this article is a comparison between postmodern philosophy and philosophy of difference, especially in its most recent version, which is philosophical deconstruction. In the first part of the paper, the history and general characteristics of postmodernism are briefly presented, while the second part discusses the philosophy of difference, not only in its present form, but also in its earlier versions, which include Martin Heidegger's “different thinking”, German idealism, Presocratic thought, and finally the philosophy of ancient India. Unlike the postmodernists, who are ultimately united almost exclusively by their critique of metaphysics and their literary style of discourse, the theorists of difference remain representatives of a traditional (though now largely forgotten) understanding of philosophy.

W przeciwieństwie do postmodernistów, których finalnie łączy niemal wyłącznie krytyka metafizyki i literacki styl wypowiedzi, teoretycy różnicy pozostają przedstawicielami tradycyjnego (choć dziś w dużej mierze zapomnianego) rozumienia filozofii.
The review of Edward Balcerzan’s work devoted to literatureness focuses on some significant issues within the modern theory of literature: the raison d’etre of certain theoretical categories, the possibility of redefining the structuralist paradigm, and contemporary values of model thinking.

The article discusses reading from the perspective of human inquiry into the nature of experience. The author pinpoints a dual problem. The first relates to difficulties with definition of experience in the philosophical tradition. The second is an influence of 20th century theories which replace the concept of interpretation with the concept of reading. The main thesis of the article argues for the necessity to enter a new reflection on the experience of reading away from its essentialistic tendency, to be more based on pragmatics and performatics. This could be followed by questions about how literature works, the kind of experience that is created in the process of reading and how people should be inspired to embrace literature. In view of the reading crisis and the crisis of classics these questions seem crucially important.
The problem of the ambiguity of metaphors and language games in philosophy is significant. On the one hand, we can talk about philosophers’ openness to specially inaccurate issues. On the other hand, we can note that it is not enough to stand face to face with the problem, or, what is even more difficult, determine and accept the right solution. In the context of the considerations, in my opinion, the thoughts which are especially worthy of attention are the ones of Plato and Wittgenstein, who, although from different perspectives, would reduce the problem of metaphors and language games most willingly, even excluding them from the use, or at least significantly reducing their impact on people. While the former one even “excludes” poets of the ideal state, the latter one practically leaves no room for poetic wordplay, basically pushing so understood non-literality outside his “chessboard”. However, as I wanted to show, Plato as well as Wittgenstein largely “created” poetry themselves, though they were not poets in the strict sense. In the mind of each of them, undoubtedly, there is some ambivalence in the approach to these issues. In my work I attempt to look at the problem from the perspective of deconstruction too, because I think that it sheds new light on it and allows a deeper reflection on the subject. The end of the text provides an incentive to philosophical thought in general which, despite its complexities, brings hope of redemption from daily life.

Deconstruction is a contemporary concept that transforms human ways of thinking and acting. It is a strategy described by Jacques Derrida, the French thinker. Deconstruction challenges the traditional way of thinking which runs according to the binary opposition of Platonic such as true / false, cause / effect, theory / practice. The result is the collapse of the teacher's authority and the university. The manifestation of this strategy is a deconstruction of any identity. Deconstructive thinking strategy aims ultimately to deny the timeless values of objective truth.
The theme of this article is The Rye in the Jungle – reportage of Zbigniew Uniłowski. After presenting some reactions from critics, and literary and social context of the creation of the reportage, I made the interpretation of the text. Uniłowski, by the ostentatious presentation of the boredom of travel, opposes the convention of the exotic, travel reportage. Moreover, he very often presents the subjectivity and uncertainty of his knowledge. As a results, he takes a discussion with the nonfiction narrative.

Every age requires that theology seek such a language that would allow the expression of the revealed truths adequately to the way of thinking of contemporary people. That is why theology benefi ts from the current philosophy. New philosophical tendencies however, expressing the way of thinking of a modern man, may raise doubts as to their theological contributes. It is so because e.g. some philosophical currents question previous philosophical narrations which may raise concerns that they controvert simultaneously the theological systems based upon them. This situation is particularly visible actually, when one asks about the legitimacy of the use of postmodernist philosophies in the sphere of theology. Nevertheless, there is a possibility of transposing (translating) of the basic categories of traditional philosophies and their theological implications to the categories of new and unverifi ed philosophical systems and this possibility proves the adequacy mentioned above. The present article attempts to verify whether the basic categories of deconstruction may be compatible with the categories built upon the Neo-platonic philosophy.

The possibility to adapt some theories of literature to the dogmatic theology in the area of trinitology does not mean the application of these strategies to the dogmatic formulas, but to the revealed Reality as such. Thus, it includes a transference of the interpretative mechanisms from the logical fi eld to the ontological one. Such a transference implies a scrupulous analyse tending to prove its legitimacy. On the other hand, this application,
In this article I compare Hans-Georg Gadamer’s philosophical hermeneutics and Jacques Derrida’s deconstruction. I try to demonstrate the similarities (focus on language and history), but moreover the differences between them. The core issue is the problem of the other, which appears in the works of both authors. Two perspectives are applied: concerning the notion of text (or tradition), and referring to the field of the political. Gadamer strives to communicate with the other (text) in the mutual understanding, although he has no hope in finding a final sensus communis. Derrida emphasizes the difference underlying every thought, as well as situations of understanding as such. As a result, their visions of democracy differ – subtly, but essentially.
This paper is an attempt to recapitulate the main themes in Jacques Derrida’s thought on the university. The author focuses on The University without Condition (presented for the first time in 1998). The paper briefly recounts the philosopher’s involvement in educational institutions (GREPH, Collège International de Philosophie). Next, there is an analysis of the distinction between the future (futur) and the future-to-come (l’avenir), as well as the related opposition between profession (profession) and craft/trades (métier). The strategy of conceiving the university as the topolitical place of resistance is revealed using Derrida’s deconstruction of the repeater figure (agrégé-répétiteur). The paper ends by presenting an analogy between the condition of structural atheism and the obligation of the university to create a possibility for an event (beyond the constative/performative opposition).
The article is a critical reading of Jacques Derrida’s Spectres of Marx. Apart from presenting the Eagleton's and Negri’s critical interpretations and philosophical unproductiveness of Derrida's proposals, I also try to show their inability to fulfill the ethical and political promises, which they makes.

The deconstruction of the literary tradition is one of the most frequently used postmodern motifs. It is the main point of many works of Russian postmodernists. Due to the exceptional achievements of Russian writers and the considerable influence on forming social consciousness their activity is subject to critical analysis in many works of all waves of Russian postmodernism. In this context Vladimir Sorokin's texts make their mark – for many of them the deconstruction of literary tradition and hermeneutics is a defining category.
