The demographic change is one of megatrends, that affects many areas of socio-economical life in Europe, including labour market.The share of people aged 55 and over in the population of every EU member is growing, while the activity and employment rates aredecreasing with age. One of the features that affect the employment level of this age group alongside gender is the level of education. Therefore,the aim of the article is to present spatial diversity of employment of people aged 55–64 in EU-28 between 2004 and 2017 and employmentprojection till 2070. The analysis covers the period between 2004 and 2017, the main source of data using in the article is Labour Force Survey,downloaded from Eurostat database.

Zmiany demograficzne stanowią jeden z megatrendów, który wpływa na wiele obszarów życia społeczno-ekonomicznego Europy,w tym na rynek pracy. Podczas gdy w każdym kraju członkowskim UE udział osób w wieku 55+ wzrasta, wskaźnik aktywności zawodoweji zatrudnienia maleje wraz z wiekiem. Jedną z cech, które wpływają na poziom zatrudnienia tej grupy wieku obok płci, jest poziom wykształcenia.Uwzględniając powyższe przesłanki, celem artykułu jest przedstawienie przestrzennego zróżnicowania poziomu zatrudnieniaosób w wieku 55–64 lata w krajach członkowskich UE w latach 2004–2017 oraz projekcji ich zatrudnienia w perspektywie roku 2070. Analizaobejmujelata 2004–2017, a jej głównym źródłem są dane pozyskane z badania aktywności ekonomicznej ludności, prowadzonych przezEurostat.
