Od początku istnienia Prus armia cieszyła się w tym kraju wielkim poważaniem wśród obywateli, a kolejni władcy dbali o to, by jej wartość bojowa wciąż rosła. Jedną z charakterystycznych cech wojskowości pruskiej jest wydawanie co roku wykazu oficerów wszystkich oddziałów wraz z informacjami na temat struktury czy dyslokacji wojska. Przy każdym oficerze znajdowała się nie tylko informacja o jego aktualnym stopniu czy przydziale służbowym, ale także o dacie otrzymania patentu czy posiadanych odznaczeniach. Niniejszy artykuł przybliża specyfikę i dzieje pruskich roczników oficerskich, a także analizuje treść oraz cechy formalne tych woluminów, które znalazły się w posiadaniu Książnicy Kopernikańskiej. Nacisk położono przy tym na ukazanie ich wartości źródłowej dla historyka. Ustalono również drogi, którymi roczniki oficerskie trafiły do zbiorów biblioteki.

From the very beginning of the existence of Prussia, the army was highly respected by citizens, and the rulers made a persistent effort to increase the army’s effectiveness. One of the characteristic features of the Prussian military conduct was the fact that each year a list of officers from all military units was issued; it included information about the army’s structure or dislocation. Next to each officer’s name there appeared not only information about his current rank or posting, but also about the date of his commission or the military decorations he possessed. The article presents the specific nature and history of the Prussian officers’ annals and examines the content and formal features of the volumes owned by the Copernicus Library. Emphasis is given to revealing their source, value for historians. It also includes a description of how the officers’ annals became part of the collections of the library.

Vom Anfang des Bestehens Preußens erfreute sich die Armee großer Achtung unter den Staatsbürgern. Auch die einzelnen Herrscher bemühten sich, ihre Kampfeffizienz zu steigern. Für das preußische Militär war charakteristisch, dass sie jährlich ein Verzeichnis der Offiziere aus allen Truppen erstellte. Die Aufstellung enthielt auch Informationen zur Struktur bzw. zur Verteilung der Streitkräfte. Die einzelnen Offiziersnamen wurden ergänzt durch solche Angaben wie: aktueller Dienstgrad und aktuelle Dienstzuteilung, Ausstellungsdatum des Offizierspatents sowie verliehene militärische Auszeichnungen. Der vorliegende Beitrag informiert über die Spezifik und die Geschichte der preußischen Ranglisten. Der Autor analysiert auch den Inhalt und die formalen Eigenschaften dieser Bände, die sich in den Beständen der Kopernikus-Bücherei befinden, mit dem Hauptziel, ihren Wert als Quelle für historische Forschung aufzuzeigen. Es konnte ebenso festgestellt werden, auf welchen Wegen die Ranglisten in die Kopernikus-Bücherei gelangt sind.
