Among numerous fi les kept in the Register Office in Łuck in Volhyn there are ones of the Public Vocational School in Łuck. The documents that deserve special attention are those containing correspondence of the school authorities with other institutions and organizations. On their basis it is possible to recreate the history of the Public Vocational School in Łuck. It was established in 1925 by the Polish Educational Society. Starting from 1934 it was governed by the authorities of Łuck. It was overseen by a board of trustees of the Łuck school district. Its students, who were mostly Jewish, learnt technology and manufacturing. The classes took place four times a week in the evenings. The curriculum included not only general vocational education but also training for specific professions such as tailoring, dealership, construction, wood processing, metal industry and butchery. Young girls also could attend the school, which was closed in 1939.

Diagnoza potrzeb edukacyjnych osób przygotowujących się do egzaminu maturalnego jest niezbędnym elementem polityki w zakresie bezpieczeństwa edukacyjnego. Uczelnia tym samym włącza się w trwający już proces kształcenia młodych ludzi, zgodnie z zamierzeniem ustawodawcy. Celem artykułu jest prezentacja wyników badań w zakresie udziału kursu przygotowującego do matury z matematyki, zorganizowanego przez szkołę wyższą, w procesie dokształcania pozaszkolnego. Realizacja celu badawczego nastąpiła poprzez stworzenie autorskiego kwestionariusza ankiety skierowanego do 350 uczestników kursu. Efektem prowadzonych badań jest stwierdzenie, iż podjęta inicjatywa wzmacnia poczucie bezpieczeństwa u ponad 70% maturzystów i stanowi główną formę w procesie dokształcania z matematyki obok samodzielnej nauki w domu, dodatkowych lekcji w szkole oraz płatnych korepetycji.

The diagnosis of educational needs among persons preparing for final high school examination is a necessary element of educational safety policy. Through this, the School joins the ongoing process of educating young people in accordance with the legislator’s intent. The purpose of the article is to present the outcome of research in the scope of participation of the preparation course in mathematics for final high school examination organized by college within the process of extramural education. The realization of research target occurred by means of creating author’s questionnaire directed at 350 course participants. The effect of the conducted research is a statement noting that the undertaken initiative strengthens the feeling of safety in case of over 70% of high school graduates and constitutes the main form within the process of extramural education in mathematics next to selfstudy at home, extra lessons in school and paid private lessons.

The process of further education and professional development of teachers played a crucial role in the educational system. Structural changes pointed to the path that teachers should follow. Their awareness of constant development was continually connected with education. Teachers felt that good professional skills were based on the development of already acquired education. Full qualifications, professionalism and dedication to the occupation constituted common ground for teacher’s professional development that is a continuous process.

Proces dokształcania i doskonalenia nauczycieli odgrywał istotną rolę w systemie oświaty państwa. Zmiany ustrojowe wyznaczały drogę, którą powinni podążać nauczyciele. Ich świadomość ciągłego rozwoju nieustannie związana była z edukacją. Pedagodzy mieli poczucie, że dobry warsztat pracy opiera się na doskonaleniu już zdobytego wykształcenia. Pełne kwalifikacje, profesjonalizm oraz poświęcenie dla wykonywanego zawodu stanowiły podstawę rozwoju zawodowego nauczycieli, który ma charakter ciągły.

Technological progress is utilized successfully in the field of contemporary education. Multimedia presentation constitutes currently the standard of the majority of academic lectures, scientific conferences, etc. Modern communication technologies overcome the barriers of distance and time in an unprecedented manner. Training and education institutions compete with regard to the variety of educational offers. Additionally, they compete in reaching each potential student or course participant by the organization of studies and forms of education and development both in the classic form, that is, in buildings of the university, or training institutions, as well as the on-line form. Survey conducted and presented in this article depicts opinions of students of the first and second degree on their preferences with regard to the form of education and development.

The article focuses on an analysis of the Singaporean teacher training model from the perspective of the solutions applied within it, which could potentially be utilized in the polish system. On the background of this particular model’s structure, the holistic approach of Singaporean institutions responsible for teacher education, meant to prepare them to the crucial role they are meant to play in the modern knowledge society, has been depicted.

In the first part of this article, their authors refer to selected aspects of the theory of art therapy and the need to apply art therapy in medical practice. Then they present the results of a survey conducted among the members of the conference and workshops ‘Art in the therapy of children with developmental disorders’, which was held at The Witelon State University of Applied Sciences in Legnica on 20th May 2016.

Autor w artykule podejmuję kwestie dotyczące przekształcenia w 1967 r. szkół oficerskich w wyższe szkoły oficerskie. Na podstawie analizy źródeł archiwalnych, literatury przedmiotu oraz własnej refleksji opisuje kryteria dotyczące wyznaczania kandydatów na stanowiska nauczycieli akademickich w nowo utworzonych wojskowych uczelniach zawodowych. Zwraca uwagę na kształcenie doskonalące, a w szczególności na kształcenie pedagogiczne kadry dydaktycznej, podejmuje również próbę uzasadnienia konieczności owego kształcenia. Wskazuje także na proces rozwoju naukowego nauczycieli akademickich, w tym wojskowych nauczycieli akademickich, dostrzega i interpretuje mankamenty tego procesu.

In the article, the author deals with issues concerning the transformation of officer schools into military academies in 1967. On the basis of the analysis of archival sources, the literature of the subject and his own reflection, he describes the criteria for appointing candidates for the posts of academic teachers in newly established military vocational academies. He draws attention to training, and in particular to pedagogical education of teaching staff, and also attempts to justify the necessity of this kind of training. He indicates the process of scientific development of academic teachers, including military academic teachers, recognises and interprets the shortcomings of this process.
