Poglądy rodziców na temat wybranych aspektów dorosłego życia osób z umiarkowaną i znaczną niepełnosprawnością stanowią główny wątek niniejszego opracowania. Proces wychowania i stymulowania do rozwoju oraz prospołecznych, samodzielnych aktywności powinien być stałą formą oddziaływania wobec dorosłych osób z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną. Zebrane wyniki badań ukazują spektrum zachowań i poglądów rodziców w zakresie udziału ich dorosłych dzieci w środowisku otwartym oraz rodzinno- domowym. Ponadto zasygnalizowano tutaj stan samopoczucia rodziców, którzy na co dzień podejmują radości i trudy funkcjonowania wokół niepełnosprawności swoich dorosłych dzieci.

The parents’ views about certain aspects of adult life of people with moderate and profound disabilities are the main topic of this study. The process of education and stimulating the development and prosocial, independent activities should be a permanent form of influence on adults with intellectual disabilities. The collected results of the research show the spectrum of behaviour and the views of parents regarding the participation of their adult children in an open environment as well as in family and household. Moreover, the physical and mental state of parents, who every day decide to experience the good and bad sides of functioning around the disability of their adult children, has been signalled.
