The role of territorial self-government in alcoholism and drug control is significant. Municipalities have the widest competence in this sphere. Among the many different rights granted to municipalities, one can distinguish those of a prophylactic, preventive, but also criminal (repressive) nature. The latter are the subject of this article. The role of territorial self-government is not — as a rule — the use of repressive measures, but sometimes they are extremely effective in fighting against such negative phenomena as alcoholism or drug addiction. That is why the article proposes introducing solutions of a criminal nature, which are to help municipalities fight against designer drugs.

Introduction. Some herbal medicinal products may be beneficial in certain respects but many can be dangerous for patients taking doctor-prescribed medications. Plant medicinal products are often taken with conventional drugs by patients. Interactions are possible between herbal medicinal products and conventional medications that can lead to toxicity due to increaseddrug plasma levels or drug treatment failure. Aim. In Serotonin, the houellebecquian homunculus, Florent-Claude Labrouste, is a “dead man walking.” Disenchanted and full of regrets about his past, he decides to break with society and disappear from the world. Bound one more time to a painful and lonely life, the hero uses antidepressants to numb his pain. His newfound emotion-deprived awareness allows him to reflect on his journey, on the missed opportunities that life had bestowed upon him and on the far-fetched possibilities left behind. This article will examine Serotonin’s take on love and its epitome, the romantic couple. Love according to Houellebecq is an existential deed, one that propels the homunculus into existence in a world bent on its destruction, as the romantic couple creates a space, an otherworldly and literary dimension in which every human can potentially find redemption – every human it seems but Houellebecq’s hero; his shrinking masculinity threatens his chances to partake in any meaningful relationship. Florent-Claude passively witnesses his two first loves leaving his life, and he seems incapable of any meaningful action to stop this decaying process. This work will try to answer the riddle that is the homunculus, torn between a redeeming far-fetched ecstasy and the quick fixes of modern society

Background Medication administration errors (MAE) are a worldwide issue affecting the safety of hospitalized patients. Through the early identification of potential causes, it is possible to increase the safety of medication administration (MA) in clinical nursing. The study aimed to identify potential risk factors affecting drug administration in inpatient wards in the Czech Republic. Material and Methods A descriptive correlation study through a non-standardized questionnaire was used. Data were collected from September 29 to October 15, 2021, from nurses in the Czech Republic. For statistical analysis, the authors used SPSS vers. 28 (IBM Corp., Armonk, NY, USA). Results The research sample consisted of 1205 nurses. The authors found that there was a statistically significant relationship between nurse education (p = 0.05), interruptions, preparation of medicines outside the patient rooms (p < 0.001), inadequate patient identification (p < 0.01), large numbers of patients assigned per nurse (p < 0.001), use of team nursing care and administration of generic substitution and an MAE. Conclusions The results of the study point to the weaknesses of medication administration in selected clinical departments in hospitals. The authors found that several factors, such as high patient ratio per nurse, lack of patient identification, and interruption during medication preparation of nurses, can increase the prevalence of MAE. Nurses who have completed MSc and PhD education have a lower incidence of MAE. More research is needed to identify other causes of medication administration errors. Improving the safety culture is the most critical challenge for today’s healthcare industry. Education for nurses can be an effective way to reduce MAEs by enhancing their knowledge and skills, mainly focusing on increasing adherence to safe medication preparation and administration and a better understanding of medication pharmacodynamics.

Abstract In this study, I would like to draw the readers' attention to the size reached by the contemporary advertising market of medications, dietary supplements and medical devices. It is probably the first market analysis on such a broad scale, conducted by the same person Material and methods For this purpose I managed to measure the intensity of advertising of these products on television, on the radio and on the Internet. The advertisements are classified according to several parameters (quantitative analysis) . I also selected some marketing strategies which, in my opinion, influence recipients the most and encourage them to purchase a given product (qualitative analysis). Results Medications, dietary supplements and medical devices are the most-advertised product category in the mass media. Conclusions The high frequency of broadcasting, large expenditure on advertising and appropriate marketing efforts build the habit of consumers reaching for a tablet in many situations.

Wyniki Leki, suplementy diety i wyroby medyczne to najczęściej reklamowana kategoria produktów w mass mediach. Wnioski Wysoka częstotliwość emisji, duże nakłady na reklamę i odpowiednie zabiegi marketingowe budują wśród konsumentów nawyk sięgania po tabletkę w wielu sytuacjach.
