The article presents an analysis of a group of 42 journalists holding managerial positions in Gdansk mass media under the nomenclature system of Gdansk Voivodeship Committee of the Polish United Workers’ Party. The analysis is twofold. First, it reconstructs the formal organisational context of journalistic nomenclature, including its development and its background in the form of the phenomenon of Gdansk nomenclature as such. Secondly, it sketches a sociologist collective portrait of journalists, taking into consideration, among other things, their social and geographical background, determinants of their political loyalty and the durability of their nomenclature position. The text is based mainly on the personal files identified in the collection of personal files of Gdansk nomenclature of journalists.

Tekst zawiera analizę grupy 42 dziennikarzy piastujących stanowiska kierownicze w gdańskich środkach masowego przekazu objęte systemem nomenklatury gdańskiego KW PZPR. Analiza ma charakter dwojaki. Po pierwsze zrekonstruowany został kontekst formalno-organizacyjny dotyczący nomenklatury dziennikarskiej, w tym jej rozwoju oraz tła w postaci fenomenu gdańskiej nomenklatury jako takiej. Po drugie nakreślony został socjologizujący portret zbiorowy dziennikarzy, uwzględniający m.in. pochodzenie społeczne i geograficzne oraz determinanty politycznej lojalności i trwałości posady nomenklaturowej. Tekst bazuje głównie na aktach osobowych zidentyfikowanych w zbiorze akt personalnych gdańskiej nomenklatury dziennikarzy.
