This article is devoted to the value and role of the project method with the use of information and communications technologies in the development of entrepreneurship competence in foreign language learning. In the first part of the paper the author defines several meanings of entrepreneurship, focusing mainly on definitions of personal entrepreneurship. The article points out that the project method creates the conditions under which students develop an entrepreneurial attitude, learn group interaction and acquire communication skills, which are important for the socialization of adolescent students. The main purpose of project method is to turn a foreign language from a passive object into an active action. Particular attention is paid to the stages of the project with the use of the information and communications technology in foreign language learning.

Significant changes in education that occurred as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in terms of organization, in the form of the transition to distance learning, significantly increased the interest of teachers and schools to use the international eTwinning platform. The main task of the eTwinning program is to encourage international exchange by building a network of cooperation and interaction between students and teachers from various European countries. This, in turn, according to the author, is a way to build a transcultural society. Going beyond the current understanding of culture as a homogeneous creation, the author uses W. Welsch’s concept of transculturalism and Wittgenstein’s understanding of culture as a way of being and the result of intercultural interactions. Therefore, the article is devoted to the using of the eTwinnig tool in the process of shaping a transcultural society. There are also some presented examples of international eTwinning projects that have already been completed and are in the process of being implemented with the direct goal of acquiring intercultural competences by all its participants and those for whom this is an indirect goal, carried out while performing other tasks.

Znaczące zmiany w edukacji, jakie nastąpiły w wyniku pandemii COVID-19 zwłaszcza w zakresie organizacyjnym, w postaci przejścia na kształcenie zdalne, zdecydowanie zwiększyły zainteresowanie nauczycieli i szkół do wykorzystania międzynarodowej platformy eTwinning, której zadaniem jest zachęcenie do wymiany międzynarodowej, budowania sieci współpracy i interakcji pomiędzy uczniami i nauczycielami z różnych krajów europejskich.

Teaching culture of foreign countries was until recently done by traditional means i.e. movies, letters sent by post to schools in other countries or by means of a textbook. Now, when schools are getting more computerized, certain elements of teaching have been revolutionized. They include, for example, culture teaching, which received a new meaning through the use of eTwinning. Because of it, teachers and students can communicate much easier through the platform, Facebook or by e-mail with other schools from the EU that are in this program. They can take part in projects with other schools and learn the cultural differences between their countries together. In this article I try to point out the challenges which multicultural ICT use can bring to education.

The text presents a short overview of activities of the Polish Ministry of National Education over the last dozen years or so, with a particular focus on the activities that are the results of planned or already implemented reforms in Polish school in terms of both improving its competitiveness and taking practical steps aimed at teaching practical skills, and not just providing the theoretical knowledge on such topics as new technologies, usage of ICT tools as didactic aids, Internet accessibility, cyber-safety, e-textbooks, or international cooperation projects (for instance eTwinning). The article can function as the base for comparison with the actions of other countries’ governments from our region in this field. The numbers given in this text are to give only the general idea of how many more challenges there are for the governing authorities, education financing system, and the Ministry of National Education. The school does not have to encourage students to use the Internet or multimedia, but it should teach how to use them in a safe and conscious way in order to develop one’s self, qualifications, and competences.
