The 75th anniversary of the start of the 2nd world World War in 1939 is being commemorated this year. We recall the fact that Poland was invaded by Nazi Germany on 1 September 1939 and by her ally, the Soviet Union ( the USSR) on 17 September. It is also the anniversary of Poland being betrayed by its contemporary allies i.e. France and Great Britain (in 1939 and after the war). Then, and even now very few people cared about the meaning of such concepts as honour, betrayal and shame. In Poland, then, an unequal struggle was launched against these two totalitarian aggressors...

W bieżącym roku mamy oto 75 rocznicę wybuchu II wojny światowej. Przypomnijmy, że pierwszego września napadły na Polskę hitlerowskie Niemcy, a 17 września – ich sojusznik – sowiecka Rosja (ZSRR). Jest to jednocześnie rocznica zdrady Polski przez jej ówczesnych sojuszników, tzn. Francję i Wielką Brytanię (w 1939 i po zakończeniu wojny). I wówczas, i tym bardziej dziś niewielu ludzi przejmuje się znaczeniem takich pojęć, jak honor, zdrada i hańba. W Polsce jednak podjęto wówczas nierówną walkę z obydwoma totalitarnymi agresorami.

The paper aims to describe axiological structures in French socio-political editorials, analyzed in terms of their discursive mechanisms connected with the persuasive function of language. These mechanisms are realised through different semantic and rhetorical means of evaluation, among which the Author distinguished the following two types: axiological expressions (Moeschler 1985) and persuasive metaoperators (according to Awdiejew’s terminology 2004, 2007). The aforementioned means are embedded in the rhetorical context of media communication, based on unilateral and emotional arguments. The sixty articles analysed in the paper were culled from selected web pages of French journals and magazines (2005–2008) dealing with social, economic and political conflicts of interest between the French people and the government. By using the above-mentioned semantic and rhetorical means of evaluation that permit to simplify, categorize and distort the description of reality, journalists are able not only to construct but also to modify the axiological domain of editorials in order to influence readers’ feelings and opinions.

Celem artykułu jest próba opisu struktur aksjologicznych we francuskim artykule wstępnym (edytorialu) o tematyce społeczno-politycznej pod kątem występujących w nim mechanizmów dyskursywnych związanych z perswazyjną funkcją języka. Mechanizmy te realizowane są przez wartościujące środki semantyczno-retoryczne, wśród których Autorka wyróżniła wyrażenia wartościujące (Moeschler 1985) oraz metaoperatory perswazyjne (Awdiejew 2004, 2007). Wspomniane środki wpisują się w retoryczny kontekst komunikacji medialnej, opartej na argumentacji jednokierunkowej i emocjonalnej. Zebrany korpus składa się z sześćdziesięciu edytoriali, zaczerpniętych ze stron internetowych francuskich czasopism, opisujących konflikt interesów społeczno-ekonomicznych i polityczno-ekonomicznych (lata 2005-2008) na linii społeczeństwo-rząd. Dzięki zastosowaniu różnych wartościujących środków semantyczno-retorycznych, pozwalających na dokonanie uproszczeń, skategoryzowanie oraz zniekształcenie opisu rzeczywistości, dziennikarze są w stanie nie tylko konstruować, ale też modyfikować aksjologiczną dziedzinę edytorialu po to, by wpływać na opinie i uczucia czytelników. odbiorcy dla prezentowanych opinii.

Das Ziel des vorliegenden Beitrags ist die Beschreibung der axiologischen Strukturen des Leitartikels/Editorials im Französischen, der der sozial-politischen Thematik gewidmet ist. Die Aufmerksamkeit wird dabei auf die Diskursmechanismen gelenkt, die mit der persuasiven Funktion der Sprache verbunden sind. Unter diesen Mechanismen versteht die Autorin des vorliegenden Beitrags u. a. bewertende Ausdrücke (Moeschler, 1985) und persuasive Metaoperatoren (Awdiejew 2004, 2007). Diese sprachlichen Mittel bilden den rhetorischen Kontext der medialen Kommunikation, die auf der einseitigen und emotionalsgeladenen Argumentation basiert. Das gesammelte Analysekorpus besteht aus sechzig Leitartikels/Editorials, die auf den Internetseiten der analysierten Zeitungen zu finden sind. Ihre Thematik betrifft die sozial-politisch-ökonomische Problematik aus den Jahren 2005-2008. In den analysierten Texten haben die Journalisten verschiedene Bewertungsmittel eingesetzt, die u. a. der Vereinfachung, Kategorisierung, Entstellung der beschriebenen Wirklichkeit dienen. Durch diese Mittel sind die Journalisten imstande, den axiologischen Inhalt des Leitartikels/Editorials zu modifizieren und dadurch die Meinungen der Leser zu beeinflussen.

Zjawisko adaptacji gatunkowej na przykładzie felietonów opublikowanych w tygodniku „Piłka Nożna” w latach 1995–1998

The aim of the paper is to fill up the gap in media studies research by characterizing selected columns written by three journalists (Janusz Atlas, Stefan Szczepłek, and Waldemar Lodziński) who published in the 1990s in a specialized weekly titled Piłka Nożna. Research methods: The paper contains conclusions from the linguistic analysis of the collected press material in terms of the presence of interesting genre adaptations in the texts. The study uses the method of linguistic genology with particular reference to Maria Wojtak’s original theory. Results and conclusions: The analysis of sports columns presents examples of original references to other press genres, utility texts, and forms characteristic of literature. However, it is examples of the duplication of the structure of press genres: profile and editorial, that come to the fore. Originality/cognitive value: Conclusions from the analysis of sports columns present their authors as intelligent, creative, and with high genre awareness.

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest próba uzupełnienia luki w stanie badań medioznawczych poprzez scharakteryzowanie wybranych felietonów autorstwa trzech dziennikarzy publikujących w latach 90. XX wieku na łamach specjalistycznego tygodnika „Piłka Nożna” – Janusza Atlasa, Stefana Szczepłka i Waldemara Lodzińskiego. Metody badań: Artykuł zawiera wnioski z językoznawczej i genologicznej analizy zgromadzonego materiału prasowego dokonanej pod kątem obecności w tekstach interesujących adaptacji gatunkowych. W pracy wykorzystano założenia genologii lingwistycznej, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem autorskiej koncepcji Marii Wojtak. Wyniki i wnioski: Analizy felietonów sportowych wykazały oryginalne nawiązania do innych gatunków prasowych, tekstów użytkowych oraz form charakterystycznych dla literatury. Na plan pierwszy wysuwają się jednak przykłady powielenia struktury gatunków prasowych: sylwetki i edytorialu. Wartość poznawcza: Wnioski z analizy felietonów sportowych ukazują ich autorów jako inteligentnych, kreatywnych, mających wysoką świadomość gatunkową.

The author presents how the rule of genealogical reductionism is reflected in the motor press pertaining to the choice of genre of written pieces. The analysis shows that the motor press omits certain genres of written forms. Some are lacking in all the magazines, some are forced out from certain journals. Some genres, which are chiefly commentarial appear rarely or sporadically. This also relates to an outline, a report, an interview and some variations of commentaries. Another example of the functioning of the rule of genealogical reductionism is the domination of some peculiar forms of transmission, mainly such forms (and their variations) as autonomous announcement under the form of a collection, specific editorial commentary, special realization of the convention of mentioning as series, advisory commentary as a news piece creating an ensemble of genres with certain types of judgmental commentaries. The motor press shows, how such forms may be characterized by genre transgression.
