Przedmiotem artykułu jest bezpieczeństwo informacji potraktowane jako globalne wyzwanie XXI wieku. Powodem tego jest istnienie wielu współczesnych zagrożeń informacji, zarówno w sferze publicznej, jak i prywatnej, które stawiają informacje w niebezpiecznej sytuacji. Odpowiedzią na to wyzwanie jest m.in. ekologia informacji, której infoekologiczne wytyczne dotyczące tego jak uczynić informację bezpieczną w wymienionych sferach są godne uwagi. W wystąpieniu zostaną zaprezentowane odpowiednio skategoryzowane zagrożenia informacji, jak również infoekologiczne zasady bezpieczeństwa informacyjnego przydatne współczesnemu człowiekowi w obliczu wyzwań i zagrożeń cyberprzestrzeni.

The subject of this article is information security treated as a global challenge of the 21st century. The reason for this is the existence of many contemporary threats to information, both in the public and private spheres, which place information in a dangerous situation. The answer to this challenge is, among others, information ecology, whose info-ecological guidelines on how to make information safe in the mentioned spheres are noteworthy. The article presents appropriately categorised threats to information, as well as info-ecological principles of information security which are useful in the face of the challenges and threats of cyberspace.

W świecie informacji biblioteka jest miejscem szczególnym. Specyfika miejsca sprawia, że ma ona do spełnienia szczególną rolę. Biblioteka jest miejscem, gdzie dostęp do informacji jest uważany za najważniejszy cel i wartość określającą sens istnienia tego miejsca instytucji. Jednocześnie staje ona przed wieloma wyzwaniami, m.in. przed wyzwaniem ekologii informacji, stając się samą ekologią informacji. Przedmiotem artykułu jest biblioteka potraktowana jako szczególne miejsce udostępniania w ekologiczny sposób ekologicznej informacji (także zawartych w jej zbiorach), oferując na bazie swoich zbiorów (i nie tylko) jednocześnie ekologiczne usługi biblioteczne jako sposób zaspokajania różnorodnych potrzeb użytkowników. Prezentowana wizja biblioteki akademickiej nawiązuje bezpośrednio do koncepcji z końca XX wieku dwóch Amerykanek Boni A. Nardi i Vicki L. O’Day. Autor zamierza nie tylko przedstawić tę dzisiaj szczególnie aktualną koncepcję, lecz przede wszystkim twórczo ją rozwinąć, zmierzając w kierunku ekologicznego zarządzania informacją w bibliotece.

In the world of information, library is a special place. The specificity of this place is the reason why it fulfils such a significant role. Library is a place, where access to information is regarded as the most important goal and value, which defines its very meaning. At the same time, it faces many challenges, such as the challenge of the ecology of information, by becoming the ecology of information itself. The subject matter of the article is library treated as a special place of sharing ecological information in an ecological manner (including the information from its collection), offering on the basis of its collection (and not just that) simultaneously ecological library service as a way to meet the various needs of the users. The presented vision of academic library references the concept from the end of the 20th century, by two American women, Boni A. Nardi and Vicki L.O’Day. The author not only intends to present this, particularly today current concept, but above all creatively develop it, going towards the direction of ecological management of libraries.

The paper explains the concept of the ecology of information and the time and extent to which this term is known in the Polish research area. Silhouettes of researchers who deal with this scientific field are presented. The importance of annual scientific conferences organized in Slupsk, devoted to the issues of information ecology, was taken into account. The second part of the article, on the basis of the method of criticism and analysis of literature, discusses the results of research of Polish representatives of science and practice, who are authors of publications relating to the links between information ecology and librarianship. The importance of the role played by libraries in learning how to find information properly and the importance of the function of librarians as information intermediaries was emphasized. Attention was also drawn to technical and formal problems accompanying the activities of libraries.

W pracy wyjaśniono pojęcie ekologia informacji oraz od kiedy i w jakim stopniu termin ten jest znany na polskim gruncie badawczym. Przedstawiono sylwetki badaczy, którzy zajmują się tą dziedziną naukową. Uwzględniono znaczenie corocznych konferencji naukowych organizowanych w Słupsku, poświęconych problematyce ekologii informacji. W drugiej części artykułu, na podstawie metody krytyki i analizy piśmiennictwa, omówiono wyniki badań polskich przedstawicieli nauki i praktyki, którzy są autorami publikacji odnoszących się do związków ekologii informacji z bibliotekarstwem. Podkreślono istotność roli, jaką odgrywają biblioteki w procesie nauki odpowiedniego wyszukiwania informacji oraz znaczenie funkcji bibliotekarzy jako pośredników informacji. Zwrócono także uwagę na techniczne i formalne problemy towarzyszące działalności bibliotek.

Ukazano informatologię z perspektywy nowych wyzwań edukacyjnych, do których zaliczono information literacy, kształtowanie kompetencji informacyjnych, rozwijanie kultury informacyjnej, wychowanie do informacji, edukację informacyjną i ekologię informacji. Uznano, że kształtowanie kultury informacyjnej jednostki można połączyć z kształtowaniem proinfoekologicznych postaw człowieka i że edukacja informacyjna powinna obejmować także problematykę ekologii informacji.

There have been presented the basic fields of study related to information science with the focus placed on new aspects emerging from the development of information and communication technology. Information technology has been presented from the perspective of new challenges such as information literacy, shaping information competence, developing information culture, bringing up with information, education for information and ecology in information. There is an assumption that shaping information culture of an individual can be connected with shaping the pro-info-eco attitude of the individual and that education for information should include also the aspect of ecology in information
