Electronic Dictionary as a Tool for Integration of Additional Learning ContentThis article discusses electronic dictionary as an element of the „Bulgarian cultural and historical heritage under the protection of UNESCO” database developed in IMI (BAS), that will be used to integrate additional learning content. The electronic dictionary is described as an easily accessible book of reference, offering information to the shape, meaning, usage and the origin of words in connection to the cultural-historical heritage sites in Bulgaria, protected by UNESCO. The dictionary targets 9–11 year old students from Bulgarian schools, who study the subjects “Man and Society” in 4th grade and “History and Civilization” in 5th grade.

This paper attempts to explore how Slovak learners of English use electronic dictionaries with regard to pronunciation practice and improvement. A total of 24 Slovak university students (subjects) completed a questionnaire which contained pronunciation-related questions in connection with the use of electronic dictionaries. The questions primarily concerned electronic editions of monolingual learner’s dictionaries, dictionaries intended for native speakers, and specialized (special-purpose) pronunciation dictionaries. The main objective of this small-scale study was to identify the frequency, manner, and types of electronic dictionaries used by the subjects in order to practice and improve their pronunciation. The findings indicate that the subjects of the study use electronic dictionaries for pronunciation practice relatively often, learner’s dictionaries being the most preferred choice. The study also recommends that EFL learners exploit the pronunciation conveniences of electronic dictionaries extensively.

The paper aims to describe the routines used by Brno linguists working on the Dictionary of Moravian and Silesian Anoikonyms. All the collected material is gradually being put into the digital database of the program which automatically creates a primal form of the entries (headwords with certain characteristics, enumeration and sequence of the respective anoikonyms and objects). The main task of the authors is then to formulate the explicatory section of each entry. At the same time, the program offers the possibility of generating various maps (for individual entries or several connected entries, on various backgrounds – administrative districts, highways or river networks, vertical model, google map). In this way, the basis arises for not only a classical printed dictionary, but – in the first place – its electronic counterpart offering innumerable possibilities to search for needed information and to depict it on maps.

The growing body of literature on intensifiers enables us to circumscribe the scope of the phenomenon more accurately and to identify rigorously its linguistic realizations. Yet, the latter are clearly underrepresented or inconsistently treated both in general dictionaries and in textbooks. That is why the need arises to work up a dictionary devoted to means of intensification so that it can serve as a tool to students of French. Rather than simply listing these means, it should be conceived of as a lexicongrammar enabling users both to vary particular forms and to respect syntactic and combinatory constraints. Additionally, it should account for when registers can be conveniently switched. The present paper aims at giving some hints on how such a disctionary should be prepared.

On the basis of analysis of scientific sources, research and compilation of practical teaching experience it is made a survey of electronic software for educational, methodological, communicative, personally oriented activity in linguistic and methodological preparation of the future teachers of language and literature as linguistic personalities and researchers. It is noted that in the training and self-studying at higher school students are offered with electronic courses, multimedia lectures, which texts combine software and psycho-pedagogical multimedia capabilities. Popular in teaching and research are electronic dictionaries, available both on drives and on sites, for example, “Slovnyk_net” by Ukrainian Lingua-Information Fund (the language portal mova.info). For the organization of remote, individual and group training, due to development of professional competencies of linguistic identity in the text activity it is really important to use electronic textbooks, electronic teaching courses that are made in educational environment Moodle and have a proper structuring: hypertext, clarity, using various types of electronic communication, perform educational, developmental function and the function of self-control. To improve the communicative competence, it is really important to work with personal sites, blogs that combine on website interested experts with common interests regarding education, teaching, challenging the functioning of Ukrainian language, who offer the forum, chat room, guestbook with open communication, share ideas of scientific developments. The development of webinars and conference technology by students provides an opportunity to develop informational skills, to learn the rules of computer etiquette, to get distance learning experience. It is proved that electronic resources are characterized by flexibility, modularity of construction, promote updating and optimization of teaching and learning activities by forming the subject, methodological and informational communicative competence, interpersonal communicative interaction of the participants of electronic communication. Also, the attention is focused on a detailed study of electronic linguodidactics.

Artykuł prezentuje elektroniczny „Słownik pojęciowy języka staropolskiego” (SPJS), który został opracowany w Instytucie Języka Polskiego PAN w Krakowie na podstawie „Słownika staropolskiego” i „Suplementu cz. I”.

The article presents the research project of the electronic "Conceptual Dictionary of Old Polish" („Słownik pojęciowy języka staropolskiego”) prepared in the Institute of Polish Language at the Polish Academy of Sciences in Cracow. This dictionary is based on "The Old Polish Dictionary" and "The Supplement (Verba absentia), part I". "The Conceptual Dictionary of Old Polish" which includes the oldest known Polish vocabulary – from the beginning of the Polish language to the end of the fifteenth century. The main aim of this project was to assign each lexical unit to the separate conceptual categories. The semantic structure of this dictionary is based on a hierarchical system created by R. Hallig and W. von Wartburg. This dictionary also contains the grammatical and structural classification of medieval vocabulary. "The Conceptual Dictionary of Old Polish" has 22 735 entries, and within 54 038 lexical units. Each meaning and function is illustrated by one example given in transliteration and in transcription.

The article considers the problems of application of computer technologies in the study of lexical semantics of relative adjectives of the Ukrainian language. Emphasis is placed on the need to create effective systems for processing semantic information by computer programs and to build high-tech language information tools for describing semantics on many parameters. The research was conducted on the basis of the electronic «Dictionary of the Ukrainian language» in 20 volumes, which is created in the Ukrainian language and information fund of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The dictionary is presented in the form of the Virtual Lexicographic Laboratory «Dictionary of the Ukrainian Language». The purpose of the article is to demonstrate the feasibility and possibilities of using computer technology in research on lexical semantics, focused on the creation of automatic systems for processing language information. The object of analysis is the dictionary articles of relative adjectives, the meaning of which in the explanatory dictionary is transferred by implicit formulas of interpretation «Adjective to…» and «Concerning to… », which only establishes the fact of connection of the meaning of adjectives with the lexical meanings of the nouns from which these adjectives are formed, which makes it impossible to analyze their semantic properties with the help of computer programs. Research methods – lexicographic analysis, theory of semantic states, corpus technology. To conduct a semantic analysis of relative adjectives of the Ukrainian language in the study used the formalism of the theory of semantic states, developed by V. A. Shirokov. The analysis was conducted within the integrated lexicographic system created in the Ukrainian Language and Information Fund of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The results of the analysis are presented in the lexicographic database «Semantics of relative adjectives» developed within the research, built for multiparametric description of semantic properties of relative adjectives of the Ukrainian language. The lexicographic database «Semantics of relative adjectives» will be a representative material for other multiparametric linguistic research in automated mode, including problems of unambiguity and ambiguity of words, word-forming semantics, creating semantic classifications, construction of a semantic dictionary for the Ukrainian language, translation dictionaries, as well as a source of source information during the formation of the Ukrainian terminological system. An explicit representation of the meaning of relative adjectives will facilitate the use of computer technology in lexical semantics research focused on creating automated systems for processing linguistic information.
