Fundamentalnym celem publikacji jest ocena poziomu dojrzałości przedsiębiorstw wytwórczych w obszarze skutecznego wdrażania lean management. W nawiązaniu do tak nakreślonego celu jako działanie niezbędne zarekomendowano: na płaszczyźnie teoretycznej nominowanie pytań opiniujących poziom dojrzałości w sferze skutecznej implementacji lean management; na płaszczyźnie projektowej skompilowanie narzędzia badawczego w postaci arkusza oceny stanowiącego wypadkową eksploracji piśmiennictwa oraz dyskusji wśród celowo dobranych ekspertów; na płaszczyźnie empirycznej indagację wśród producentów sektora maszyn rolniczych (weryfikacja metody w praktyce). Interdyscyplinarność nauk o zarządzaniu stwarza problemy w doborze metod badawczych, za pomocą których zamierza się opisywać dany problem. W badaniach empirycznych często wykorzystuje się (bezpośrednio lub z pewnymi modyfikacjami) zweryfikowane w innych badaniach metody i narzędzia badawcze. Podobnie postępują autorzy pracy, jednak metoda i narzędzia są dobrane według przyjętej koncepcji metodycznej.

The main purpose of this publication is to assess the maturity level of manufacturing enterprises in the area of effective lean management implementation. In reference to such an outlined purpose, as a necessary activity, it was recommended: at the theoretical level – using the reconstruction and interpretation method of Polish and foreign subject literature – to nominate the questions giving opinions on the maturity level in the sphere of the effective lean management implementation; at the design level – to complicate a research tool in the form of an assessment sheet that constitutes a result of the literature exploration and discussion among deliberately chosen experts; and at the empirical level – questioning among manufacturers of the agricultural machinery sector (method verification in practice). The interdisciplinary nature of management sciences creates problems in selecting the research methods with which one intends to describe a given problem. Research methods and tools verified in other research are often used in empirical research (directly or with certain modifications). A similar approach is followed by the authors of the paper, but the method and the tools are selected according to the adopted methodological concept.
