Przyczyny padaczki wieku rozwojowego są przyczynami zaburzeń rozwoju języka, a także zmysłów i ruchu. W ocenie logopedycznej rozwój kompetencji językowej i komunikacyjnej powinien być oceniany na tle szeroko rozumianego rozwoju psychomotorycznego. Standardy postępowania logopedycznego w przypadku dzieci z padaczką wymykają się standardom postępowania w poszczególnych zaburzeniach językowych.
