Policja w Polsce jest formacją służącą społeczeństwu i przeznaczoną do zapewnienia bezpieczeństwa publicznego. W interesie społecznym leży sprawna Policja. Miarą utylitarną sprawności działania tej instytucji jest w wymiarze uniwersalnym jej skuteczność w ograniczaniu przestępczości, w tym szczególnie społecznie uciążliwej, oraz wykrywalność sprawców czynów zabronionych. Badając sprawność działania polskiej Policji, dokonano analizy skuteczności jej działań w latach 2015 – 2019.

The Police in Poland is a formation serving society and responsible for ensuring public safety. Efficient Police Forces are in the public interest. The useful measure of the efficiency of the institution’s operation is, in a universal dimension, its effectiveness in limiting crime, including particularly socially burdensome crime, and the detection of perpetrators of prohibited acts. The examination of the efficiency of the Polish Police Forces enabled the author to analyse the effectiveness of their activities performed in the period between 2015 and 2019.
