The article discusses the issues of chosen existential worries characteristic for mature people such as: fear of death, loneliness and suffering. These are the most frequent connotations of the elderly with their own mortality. The article presents the specifics of confrontation of a human being with existential worries in their last stage of life. The text is based on classic literature of Polish and foreign gerontologists, philosophers, psychologists and pedagogues and the author’s own research.

Artykuł porusza kwestie wybranych trosk egzystencjalnych, specyficznych dla osób dojrzałych, tj. lęk przed śmiercią, samotność i cierpienie. Są to jedne z najczęściej występujących konotacji ludzi starszych z własną śmiertelnością. Przedstawiona została specyfika konfrontacji człowieka w jego ostatnim okresie życia z troskami egzystencjalnym. Tekst oparty o klasyczną literaturę polskich i zagranicznych gerontologów, filozofów, psychologów i pedagogów oraz o badania własne autora.
