Das Phänomen des Feminismus wird normalerweise mit der westlichen Welt assoziiert, besitzt jedoch seine Entsprechung im Kreis der islamischen Kultur. Die Anfänge der feministischen Ideologie in der islamischen Welt - An-Nisayat, reichen ins ausgehende 19. Jahrhunderts zurück. Innerhalb dieser Bewegung können wir einige Strömungen unterscheiden. Die erste Strömung wird manchmal als unsichtbarer Feminismus be-zeichnet und fällt auf die Jahre 1860-1920. Die zweite Etappe der Entwicklung findet bis in die 1970er Jahre statt und fällt mit dem Aufbau unabhängiger, moderner Staaten in der arabischen Welt zusammen. Sie zeichnet sich durch eine säkulare, liberale Einstel-lung zu den Rechten der Frauen aus und wird häufig als eine Kopie des westlichen Ge-sellschaftsmodells betrachtet. Die dritte Periode - der islamische Feminismus - sucht im Gegensatz zur früheren Etappe ideologische Fundierung in muslimischer Religion. Der Artikel stellt die drei obengenannten Strömungen im islamischen Feminismus dar. Der Schlussteil des Artikels wurde der Charakteristik einiger wichtigster internationaler Or-ganisationen gewidmet, die die Weltbewegung des islamischen Feminismus bilden.

The phenomenon of feminism, generally associated with the Western world, has its equivalent in the Muslim culture. The beginnings of the feminist ideology in the world of Islam – An- Nisayat date back to the end of the 19th century. Three main streams could be distinguished within the above movement. The first one, called “invisible feminism”, occurred in the period between 1860 and 1920. The second period of the movement took place till the 1970s. It is characterised by the secular and liberal approach to the women's rights and often tends to be referred to as a copy of the model of the Western society. The third period of the movement –Islamic feminism, as opposed to the earlier incarnation of the phenomenon, looks for its ideological bases in Islam. The article presents the three streams of the Muslim feminism as outlined above. The last part of the article discusses several international organisations which form the global, transnational movement of Islamic feminism.

Zjawisko feminizmu, na ogół łączone ze światem zachodnim, posiada swój odpowiednik w kręgu kultury muzułmańskiej. Początki ideologii myśli feministycznej w świecie isla-mu – An-Nisayat – sięgają końca XIX w. W obrębie ruchu możemy wyodrębnić kilka nurtów. Pierwszy, nazywany niekiedy feminizmem niewidocznym, przypada umownie na lata 1860-1920. Drugi etap rozwoju ruchu ma miejsce do lat 70. XX w., wpisuje się w budowę niepodległych, nowoczesnych państw w świecie arabskim. Charakteryzuje się sekularystycznym, liberalnym podejściem do praw kobiet, często też bywa określany kopią modelu społeczeństwa zachodniego. Trzeci okres feminizmu – feminizm islamski – w przeciwieństwie do wcześniejszego etapu poszukuje podbudowy ideologicznej ruchu w religii muzułmańskiej. Artykuł prezentuje trzy wskazane powyżej nurty w feminizmie islamskim. Ostatnia część artykułu została poświęcona charakterystyce kilku najważniej-szych międzynarodowych organizacji tworzących światowy ruch feminizmu islamskie-go.
