Specjalizacja nauczycielska na filologii romańskiej a kompetencje nauczyciela języka specjalistycznego

Specjalizacje nauczycielskie obecne są w programach kształcenia wszystkich filologii romańskich, a ich celem jest przygotowanie studentów do wykonywania zawodu nauczyciela języka obcego. Programy zajęć w ramach specjalizacji regulowane są stosownym rozporządzeniem ministra i dość sztywno przenoszone do programów kształcenia na poziomie uniwersyteckim. Czy odgórne wytyczne ministerialne uwzględniają wystarczająco docelowy profil i kompetencje nauczyciela języka specjalistycznego? Jak uczelnie wyższe podporządkowują się przepisom prawa w zakresie przygotowania do wykonywania zawodu nauczyciela języka obcego? Celem niniejszego tekstu jest, z jednej strony, przegląd programów specjalizacji nauczycielskiej na wybranych polskich romanistykach pod kątem treści kształcenia przygotowujących do pracy z grupami o potrzebach zawodowych, a z drugiej, odniesienie ich do kompetencji pożądanych w zawodzie nauczyciela języka specjalistycznego.

All Romance language institutes feature teaching specialisations in order to provide students with foreign language teaching qualifications. The curriculum for these specialisations is subject to ministerial regulations, and as such is quite rigidly transposed onto university programmes. Are the ministerial guidelines adequate for the target profile and competences of the specialist language teacher? How do higher education institutions comply with regulations regarding training foreign language teachers? The aim of the presented article is, on the one hand, to review available teaching specialisation content at selected Romance institutes in Poland in terms of vocational language teaching, and on the other hand to assess the relevance of the programmes for desirable competences of a specialist language teacher.

Wobec znacznego spadku liczby absolwentów szkół średnich posługujących się językiem francuskim na tyle biegle, by móc rozpocząć studia na filologii romańskiej, wiele polskich uczelni utworzyło kierunek „filologia romańska od podstaw”. Jedną z kluczowych kompetencji rozwijanych na tych studiach jest tłumaczenie, obejmujące także podstawy przekładu audiowizualnego. Artykuł przedstawia przykłady rozwiązań dydaktycznych dla tego przedmiotu, stosowanych w Uniwersytecie Opolskim.

In the face of a sensible diminution of the number of high‑‑ school graduates able to communicate in French well enough to follow the “classical” French Philology course, many Polish universities offer their students the possibility of studying “French Philology level 0”. One of the key skills developed by this course is translation, including basic audio‑‑ visual translation competences. The paper shows some examples of translator training clues that have been worked out at the Opole University.

Despite the growing number of academic publications discussing the advantages of translation for language learning, school teachers of French rarely use such exercises in their work with students, complaining mainly about lack of time and suitable teaching materials. Academic centres which educate future linguists offer more opportunities to use translation in practical French language classes. This article presents the opinions of students of Romance studies on the subject of translation in language learning after a semester of work with Janina Radej’s publication entitled “Francuski w tłumaczeniach. Gramatyka 1-4” [French in translation. Grammar 1-4]. It was found that for students, translation is a new and attractive exercise that diversifies the language learning process. Despite the greater effort needed, students unanimously declared that they want to do this type of exercise. They recognised not only benefits in terms of linguistic improvement, but also the interdisciplinary value, since translation exercises in the language course also offer students preparation for classes in translation studies, and serve as a prelude for doing translations in the future.
