The central banks’ financial strength supports financial stability. Now in a low interest rate world it should receive much more attention as many central banks had experienced financial difficulties mainly due to operating and valuation losses. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the determinants of central banks’ financial strength and find the most appropriate measure of it. The empirical analysis is based on data from a ten-year panel for central banks from Central and Eastern European Countries that are members of the European Union (EU), but have not adopted the euro.

Celem rozważań jest próba identyfikacji pozycji strategicznej giełdowej spółki Indykpol SA działającej na krajowym rynku drobiu oraz określenie zalecanej dla niej strategii działania. W związku z powyższym w czteropolowym układzie współrzędnych utworzonym w czterech wymiarach przeprowadzono analizę portfelową tej spółki z wykorzystaniem metody SPACE. Wyniki opracowania pokazują, że Indykpol SA charakteryzuje się silną pozycją i działa na atrakcyjnym rynku. Zatem należy zastosować agresywną strategię polegającą na intensywnej penetracji i ekspansji działalności.

The objective of the article is an attempt to identify the strategic position of the quoted company Indykpol operating in the national market for poultry as well as to define the strategy of activities recommended for it. Having the said in mind, in the four-field set of coordinates, set up in the fourdimensions, there was carried out an analysis of this company’s portfolio with the use of the SPACE method. The results show that Indykpol SA is characterised by a strong position and is operating in an attractive market. Hence, there should be applied an aggressive strategy consisting in an intense penetration and expansion of activities.

Цель статьи – попытка выявить стратегическую позицию биржевой компании «Indykpol», действующей на национальном рынке мяса птицы, и определить рекомендуемую стратегию действия. В этой связи в четырехполевой системе координат, созданной в четырех измерениях, провели анализ портфеля заказов этой компании с использованием метода SPACE. Результаты разработки показывают, что для «Indykpol SA» характерна сильная позиция и что компания действует на привлекательном рынке. Следовательно, надо применить агрессивную стратегию, заключающуюся в интенсивном проникновении и в экспансии деятельности.
