The paper they made an appraisal of accuracies of the predicted level of the migration in forecasts drawn up by the Central Statistical Office in two last decades (forecasts from years: 1997, 2000, 2004, 2009). In the article internal migrations were discussed and outside) in contemporary Poland. Next they presented and methodological assumptions were commented from the chosen forecasts concerning the migration. They pointed, that differences between the real scale of the migration and predicted from forecasts were relatively big. Mistakes concerned both fixing appropriate trends in directions of the migration, and the scale of transfers.

W artykule dokonano oceny trafności przewidywanego poziomu migracji w prognozach opracowanych przez Główny Urząd Statystyczny w ostatnich dwóch dekadach (prognozy z lat: 1997, 2000, 2004, 2009). W artykule omówiono migracje (wewnętrzne i zewnętrzne) we współczesnej Polsce. Następnie przedstawiono i skomentowano założenia metodologiczne z wybranych prognoz dotyczących migracji. Wskazano, iż różnice między rzeczywistą skalą migracji a przewidywaną z prognoz były stosunkowo duże. Błędy dotyczyły zarówno wyznaczania właściwych trendów w kierunkach migracji, jak i rozmiarów przemieszczeń.
