Adult catechesis is the most important pastoral task of the Church. Taking up this task requires, however, several conditions that must be fulﬁlled, of which the most important is to gather together a living community of faith and to undertake, with the adult subject, the formation of a dialogue of salvation. So, it must be a community for adults who need support and companionship in their speciﬁc adult life situations (adult church) and hope-oriented formation (discernment in the Holy Spirit). In this study, the author tried to listen to adults (over 1500 people from diﬀerent parts of Poland) and recognize their spiritual problems and present them in the context of contemporary culture. The article uses authentic adult statements, pointing out important issues that may be the basis for catechetical meetings. In their opinion, the Church should become a place of authentic dialogue around the real issues that adults have and the formation of practical skills in the life of faith. The text is at the same time a reﬂection of the author dealing with forms of adult catechesis over the most important spiritual problems of the middle generation and the directions of work with them.

Katecheza dorosłych jest najważniejszym zadaniem pastoralnym Kościoła. Podjęcie tego zadania wymaga jednak spełnienia kilku warunków, spośród których najważniejsze dotyczą zwołania żywej wspólnoty wiary oraz podjęcia z dorosłym podmiotem formacji dialogu zbawienia. Musi więc to być wspólnota dla ludzi dorosłych, którzy potrzebują wsparcia i towarzyszenia w ich konkretnych dorosłych sytuacjach codzienności (dorosły Kościół) oraz formacja ukierunkowana na nadzieję (rozeznawanie w Duchu Świętym). W swoich badaniach Autor w rozmowie z dorosłymi (ponad 1500 osób z różnych części Polski) podjął próbę wysłuchania dorosłych i rozpoznania ich duchowych problemów oraz przedstawienia ich na tle współczesnej kultury. W artykule wykorzystano autentyczne wypowiedzi dorosłych, wskazujących na istotne z ich punktu widzenia sprawy, które mogą stanowić podstawę dla spotkań katechetycznych. W ich opinii Kościół powinien stać się miejscem autentycznego dialogu wokół realnych spraw, jakimi dorośli żyją na co dzień oraz formacji pozwalającej uzyskać praktyczne umiejętności w życiu wiarą. Tekst stanowi zrazem reﬂeksję Autora zajmującego się formami katechezą dorosłych nad najważniejszymi problemami duchowymi średniego pokolenia oraz kierunkami pracy razem z nimi.
