Artykuł „Trudne rodzicielstwo – socjodemograficzne i podmiotowe determinanty zespołu wypalenia sił u rodziców dzieci z autyzmem” to drugi z cyklu artykułów prezentujących wyniki projektu badawczego dotyczącego problematyki wypalania się sił u rodziców dzieci z autyzmem. Celem badań było wszechstronne rozpoznanie zjawiska oraz możliwie pełny jego opis i wyjaśnienie. Przyjęcie ilościowo-jakościowej orientacji badawczej pozwoliło na określenie rozmiarów i struktury zjawiska, rozpoznanie czynników determinujących oraz opis przebiegu procesu i jego symptomów. Prezentowane badania zostały zrealizowane w grupie 68 rodziców w wieku od 29 do 60 lat wychowujących dziecko z autyzmem. Analizowano trzy wymiary zespołu wypalenia testowane kwestionariuszem Maslach: wyczerpanie emocjonalne, depersonalizację oraz poczucie osiągniętego sukcesu życiowego. Przedmiotem tego artykułu są: poziom i struktura zespołu wypalenia sił u rodziców dzieci z autyzmem oraz czynniki socjodemograficzne i podmiotowe determinujące jego pojawienie się i pełnoobjawowy rozwój. Wśród czynników tych omawiam: zmienne socjodemograficzne (wiek rodziców, płeć, wykształcenie, aktywność zawodową, status materialny rodzin, sytuację społecznego funkcjonowania rodziców) oraz czynniki podmiotowe (poczucie kompetencji rodzicielskich, strategie radzenia sobie ze stresem, poczucie osiągniętego sukcesu i satysfakcji rodzicielskiej).

The article “Difficult Parenthood: Sociodemographic and Subjective Determinants of Burnout Syndrome in Parents of Children with Autism” is the second in the series of articles presenting the results of a research project on burnout syndrome in parents of children with autism. The research aimed to thoroughly examine the phenomenon and describe and explain it as fully as possible. Thanks to the use of quantitative and qualitative research methods, it was possible to define the size and structure of the phenomenon, identify the determining factors and describe the course and symptoms of the syndrome. The study was conducted on a group of 68 parents of children with autism aged 29 to 60. Three dimensions of burnout syndrome assessed with the Maslach Burnout Inventory were analyzed: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal accomplishment. The subject of this article is the level and structure of burnout syndrome in parents of children with autism and sociodemographic and subjective factors that determine its occurrence and a fullblown development. The factors discussed include: sociodemographic variables (parents’ age, gender, education, vocational activity, family’s financial and social status) and subjective factors (a sense of parenting competence, stress coping strategies, a sense of personal achievement and of parenting satisfaction).
