This article deals with issues related to customs administration, especially customs law and customs administration de lege ferenda. A particular emphasis is laid on goals and visions formulated for the beginning of the 21st century on supranational and national levels. This is supplemented with a discussion of the future of customs administration through the perspective of the World Customs Organisation (WCO).
