The representatives of generation Y are those born in the years 1977–1997. Otherwise known as “wired generation”, they are fluent in the Internet usage. Their skills in using this medium are confronted with the challenge of the information society, namely the spread of WEB 2.0 services. The representatives of Generation Z, though, the so-called “Millenials” are born after 2000 and perceive virtual reality as it was the same as a ‘real’ one. For them the Internet ‘always existed’. In the literature, there are some differences in the date ranges given for each generation. For this reason, generation of young people in their twenties, is sometimes included in both – the generation Y and Z – and called the breakthrough generation. The aim of the paper is to present ways WEB 2.0 services usage by representatives of the breakthrough generation together with the opportunities and threats. For this purpose, basing on the current literature of the subject, a comparison of the Internet tools usage by different generations of web surfers with particular emphasis on the generation breakthrough was made. In the next part of the paper, there were presented results of the survey that was carried out among representatives of breakthrough generation. The purpose of research was to detect ways of the Internet usage and emerging from this potential opportunities and threats.
W przedsiębiorstwach spotykają się obecnie przedstawiciele czterech pokoleń reprezentujących różne sposoby myślenia i zachowania będące wynikiem dojrzewania w odmiennych warunkach społecznych i gospodarczych. Do weryfikacji hipotez H1 – H4 wykorzystano średnią arytmetyczną (X), medianę (Me), dominantę (D) oraz współczynnik zmienności (V). Do weryfikacji H5 zastosowano test Kruskal’a-Wallis’a.

Today's generational diversity in the labor market is significantly complicated. Currently, enterprises meet representatives of four generations representing different ways of thinking and behaving as a result of maturing in different social and economic conditions. The main purpose of the article was to identify the premises and assess their impact on decisions about choosing a workplace by employees of the X, Y, Z generation. The study was conducted in the first half of 2020 among 97 respondents. The tool used during data collection was a questionnaire. The CAPI and CAWI methods were used. The obtained results were coded and then using the Statistica 13.1 program. they were analyzed. To verify the H1 - H4 hypotheses, the arithmetic mean (X), median (Me), mode (D) and the coefficient of variation (V) were used. Kruskal-Wallis test was used for H5 verification. According to the respondents, the most important reasons for choosing a workplace include, above all, flexibility of working time, the image of a reliable employer, family-friendly, the employer's organizational culture based on openness to both people and ideas, the attitude and behavior of potential colleagues, satisfactory remuneration and benefits, access to training, the possibility of creating your own career path, and in the case of the Z generation, the possibility of promotion and acquiring knowledge from employees. The conducted analyzes show that only in the assessment of the possibility of reconciling work and study there are statistically significant differences between the respondents from the X and Z generations. In all other cases, the differences in the ratings are statistically insignificant.

At the Institute of Applied Linguistics (ILS) in the entire Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan (UAM), full-time classes were suspended as of 11 March 2019 due to the declaration of a pandemic, and till June 2021 were held in the remote mode. The need to switch from full-time to remote teaching therefore fell on both lecturers and students suddenly, causing temporary disorganisation of the teaching process. In a short time, however, both parties had to organise themselves anew and take up the hitherto unknown challenge of learning and teaching completely at a distance, even though the form of communication itself, via the Internet, was not new. The problems this posed and the conclusions it led to are presented in this article. The aim of the article is to reflect on the form and implementation of distance learning in selected subjects of the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree courses in Applied Linguistics at ILS in the academic years 2019/20 and 2020/21, based on the experiences of the authors of the article and the participating students, which ena-bled the former to draw conclusions on the effectiveness of this form of teaching and raising the quality of education in the subjects studied.
Preparing young people for confirmation is becoming one of the most difficult challenges for pastoral care in Poland today. The traditional and somewhat clerical model of formation which has been used for years can be dismissed today as outdated. Representatives of the young generation who prepare themselves for the sacrament of confirmation are giving the community of the Church the last chance. The Church community can use it for effective evangelization or, while trusting in classical, outdated methods and assumptions of formation, might be indifferent towards the concept of pastoral conversion promoted by Pope Francis, thus losing contact with young people. The perspective of effectively proclaiming the Good News to the candidates for confirmation as well as enhancing their foundations of faith is a pastoral challenge which demands a change in current mentality. Young people in parish communities can experience the activity of the Holy Spirit and the beauty of the living Church. In order for this to happen, formalistic thinking needs to be abandoned, as it is focused on building the structures rather than on spiritual development of a person.

Reprezentanci młodego pokolenia, podejmując przygotowanie do sakramentu bierzmowania, dają dziś ostatnią szansę wspólnocie Kościoła. Może ona ją wykorzystać do skutecznej ewangelizacji, bądź też, ufając w klasyczne, nieaktualne metody i założenia formacyjne, wykazać indyferentyzm wobec promowanej przez Ojca Świętego Franciszka koncepcji nawrócenia pastoralnego, tracąc tym samym kontakt z młodymi ludźmi. Perspektywa efektywnego przekazu Dobrej Nowiny kandydatom do bierzmowania, a także wzmacnianie w nich fundamentów wiary jest wyzwaniem duszpasterskim, wymagającym zmiany dotychczasowej mentalności. Młodzi w poszczególnych wspólnotach parafialnych mogą doświadczyć działania Ducha Świętego i piękna żywego Kościoła.
