In the article the analysis of criteria, indicators and levels of formation of general cultural competence of future teachers of humanitarian specialties is carried out. As a result of generalization and synthesis of scientific and pedagogical information criteria, indicators and levels of formation of general cultural competence of future teachers of humanitarian specialties of vocational training are presented. In the article the criteria and indicators of general cultural competence of future teachers of humanitarian specialties based on its structural components are defined and characterized. Namely: personal and motivational, cognitive and procedural and reflexive. General cultural competence isn’t created independently and demands purposeful actions for its formation, namely the expedient, systematized accumulation in its content of positive quantitative and high-quality changes which allow carrying out effectively to future teachers of humanitarian specialties common cultural activity. A reference point in its formation owes baht understanding of its quintessence, understanding of its essential signs and features, indicators and criteria, the major manifestations which are shown in ability of the future teacher-humanist to pedagogical growth in the sphere of general cultural competence. General cultural competence is awareness on system (set) of knowledge, abilities, skills which define ability of future teachers of humanitarian specialties to general cultural activity. General cultural competence is personal professional education which at full compliance meets all requirements of professional and pedagogical activity that allows students to acquire successfully knowledge, to form abilities and skills. General cultural activity is the difficult multidimensional process and result of vocational training of future teachers of humanitarian specialties directed at formation of the general culture, development of spiritual, civil, social, pedagogical, administrative (organizational), legal, ethical, ecological culture of the personality, culture of the interpersonal relations, formations of scientific outlook.
