In the article the author justifies the necessity of studying the formation of the communicative component of language activity of five years old children with GUS through the creation and application of criteria-diagnostic complex on the basis of analysis and synthesis of the psycho-linguistic, psychological and pedagogical, linguistic, speech therapy, teaching literature. Developed criteria and levels of rating will allow to define the levels of formation of cognitive and speech development, which are the basis of communicative component of language activity. On the basis of the received results the content of the method of forming the communicative component of five years old children with GUS can be developed. The key message of the article is the importance of thorough research into the issue of the formation of a communicative component of five-year old children’s speech activity when they have rudimentary speech abilities. In the foreground of the research is speech activity as a functionally complicated bi-directional process; the latter includes the skills, operations and habits being molded in the course of a pre-school children’s development. Special emphasis is made on Ye. Sobotovich’s psycholinguistic model of speech activity and psychological mechanisms underlying its formation. The research provides the analysis of linguistic and communicative components of speech activity, both components being interdependent and closely interrelated. The conclusion is drawn that the disorders of speech activity of the children with general underdevelopment of speaking abilities is caused by rudimentary nature of its structural component, which is manifested in the act of communication. The research contains specific arguments to prove the advisability of pursuing research into a diagnosis of the formation of a communicative component of the speech activity of verbally-challenged children of precisely this age, i.e. 5 year’s olds. The topicality of studying the formation of a communicative component of the children with underdevelopment speech abilities is determined by its importance for an act of communication and transmission of information in the course of oral, mental and intellectual activity as well as the child’s personal maturity.

In the article there were considered the difficulties faced by children with the general underdevelopment of speech (GUS) while entering school. With a focus on school maturity criteria, the article stated on those minuses of oral speech, functional, operational base, which cause the unsuccessfulness of the children with GUS in learning basic academic skills. There were defined the mechanisms of occurrence of such disorders as dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia. Taking into account the systemic nature of speech disorders of children with GUS, the article discovered the speech preparation directions of children for school. An important aspect of correctional and developing work is to form different activities of the preschool children with GUS, especially the game activities, as the leading activity of the preschool children. While preparing children for school there should be promoted such components of teaching and learning activity, as motivational and target, organizational and oriented, content and procedural, regulatory, control and evaluation. Considering the fact that children with GUS could have underdevelopment of both verbal and nonverbal functions, their preparation for school should implement a systematic and comprehensive approach. The necessary work is not only about the correction and formation of their phonetic and phonemic, lexical and grammatical structure of speech, coherent speech skills, but also about gnosis, praxis, mnemic and thinking processes and also emotional and volitional and motor regions. The article also focused on the fact that many children with GUS inherent weakening, slowness of mental and physical development, which are often associated with residual organic pathology of the central nervous system. In order to prevent psycho-emotional overload of the children with GUS, teachers should take into account their physiological, personal characteristics, health and social situation of the development. Only under the condition of comprehensive preparation of children for school, it is possible for children with GUS to adopt deliberately the new social and psychological position, to bring up positive attitudes to schooleducation.

At the present stage of the development of the correctional education the process of diagnosis of preschool children speech disorders with general underdevelopment of speech becomes of particular importance. The main stages of experimental studies of the condition of coherent speech in preschool age children with general underdevelopment of speech are characterized in the article. A comprehensive survey included a series of successive experimental tasks, which were conducted with each child individually. There were examined 12 children of 5-6 years with general underdevelopment of speech at different levels, and 12 preschoolers of the same age with normal speech development. The basis of the ascertaining experiment was held on test methods for diagnostics of connected speech by V. Glukhov. To assess the success of the technique use the ball-tier system was included. The survey of connected speech in senior preschool children with speech disorders and normal speech development took place in accordance with the basic methodological requirements. The study was made in the pre-school educational establishment № 36 «The Scarlet flower» of the town Sumy. The analysis showed that children with general underdevelopment of speech are significantly lag behind children with normal development on the level of ownership of the means of coherent speech. Made by the children agrammatism has increased the number of errors in the use of prepositions and prepositional-case constructions, transmission, spatial and other relations. A significant number of errors were observed during the use of verbal forms. The majority of errors were identified during the construction of the sentence, especially manifested during the use widespread and compound sentences. The analysis of the results of the study confirmed the presence of several features characterizing the state of the connected speech of children with general underdevelopment of speech, which definitely should be taken into account when carrying out remedial work.
