The authors of this article defi ne changes that are made in the contemporary para-digm of security. Noticing changes that have occurred in the way of using military potential and in economic interaction, they claim that the Transatlantic Community has made a signifi cant transformation in the strategy of global impact. According to their conviction, the role of military factors is reduced to the benefi t of economic force. As a result, one of the most important problems in the contemporary policy of security is the issue of causality between the economy and the level of the states defence of the Transatlantic Community.

W artykule Autorzy definiują zmiany, jakie dokonują się we współczesnym paradygmacie bezpieczeństwa. Dostrzegając zmiany w sposobie wykorzystania potencjału militarnego i siły oddziaływania ekonomicznego, stwierdzają, iż w wspólnota transatlantycka dokonała znaczącego przeobrażenia w strategii globalnego oddziaływania. W ich opinii następuje zmniejszenie roli czynnika militarnego (siły militarnej) na korzyść siły gospodarczej. Z tego względu jednym z najważniejszych problemów współczesnej polityki bezpieczeństwa staje się kwestia związku przyczynowo-skutkowego występującego między gospodarką a poziomem obronności państw wspólnoty transatlantyckiej
