W opracowaniu przedstawiono pierniki w ofercie turystycznej Torunia. Wykazano, że toruńskie ciastka korzenne stanowią potencjał turystyki kulinarnej miasta. Opisano historię pierników w Europie, w tym w Polsce. Ukazano historię pierników toruńskich na przestrzeni wieków. Szczegółowo zaprezentowano powstanie i rozwój Fabryki Cukierniczej „Kopernik S.A.”. Zestawiono atrakcje turystyczne Torunia związane z piernikarstwem: Żywe Muzeum Piernika, Muzeum Toruńskiego Piernika, Święto Piernika, szlak po „Piernikowym Mieście”.

The presentation presents gingerbread in Toruń’s tourist offer. It has been shown that Toruń spices cookies are the culinary potential of the city. The history of gingerbread in Europe is described, including in Poland. The history of Toruń gingerbreads has been revealed over the centuries. The creation and development of the “Kopernik S.A.” Confectionery Factory is presented in detail. Toruń’s gingerbread-related touristic attractions are: The Toruń Gingerbreads, The Alive Gingerbread Museum, The Toruń Gingerbread Museum, The Gingerbread Festival, The Gingerbreadt Trail.
