The author emphasizes the specific features of globalization processes described by terms like: information technology, transformations of material culture, national economy and circulation of increasingly less tangible financial capital. The virtual world with sophisticated tools and well-trained specialists offers a broad selection of opportunities to make the economy stronger. However, not every actor (state) has tools to participate in this global competition. This article examines how national economies, including Bulgaria, try to become a full right member (participant) in the global “game.”

The purpose of this paper is to briefly discuss the role innovation plays in global competition and discuss how companies from some of the emerging markets are using innovation to compete with global companies from the developed world. Innovation is linked to the marketing concept as a driver for developing new products, services, and/or delivery systems. As global borders disappear, and training and education along with trade freedom increase, the opportunity for innovation increases. This writing offers a forward look into the global possibilities of emerging market innovation.

The article deals with the theoretical and empirical research in the field of business networks development, including systematization of factors and results of the process, their impact on global competitiveness. The role of information technology as a key factor of networks development and their role in global competitiveness were analyzed on the basis of regression analysis method. It was concluded, that information and communication technology development is not only a prerequisite for networking and essential for innovative development, but is an important factor for global competitiveness. To identify the most important factors of that affect the global competitiveness, a linear regression analysis was conducted for 140 countries of the world. It was concluded, that the most effective direction of the network economy development from the point of view of its impact on the level of country competitiveness is the creation of new models of business organization in the sphere of innovation activity. The system of services for stimulating interaction among businesses for business networks development is proposed with participation of Living Labs.
