Article dedicated to the memory of Polish Prussia indigenous peoples in the XIX–XX c., Including activists of the Union of Poles in Germany and Their Families (paradoxically it is connected in non-random way of searching for the grave of Copernicus). This article presents a synthetic assessment of the alleged discovery of the tomb of Nicolaus Copernicus. Using, among others, a pair of terms “context of discovery” and “context of justification” (Reichenbach 1938), considered whether this discovery is the fact that only media, or the scientific fact. We analyzed the arguments used by the authors of this discovery. Dealt with, among others, interdisciplinary research methodology, historical evidence, the history of portraits of Nicolaus Copernicus, the arguments in the field of DNA analysis and the question of reception of this discovery in the media and academic circles. Based on multivariate analysis concluded that these findings are undoubtedly the fact the media; So far, however, the argument for the discovery of this tomb is in many key points inconsistent, questionable or erroneous, which makes scientific sense that it is still an open question whether he actually discovered the tomb of Nicolaus Copernicus. Therefore postulated to continue these studies in a more methodical manner
