Work of the guidance counsellor focuses on care, education and preven-tion. The guidance counsellor supports students in the integral development. It helps them to overcome educational problems and co-works with parents. Usu-ally the activity is accompanied by his/her involvement in combating violence not only in school but also in the family. This article focuses on the basic operation of the guidance counsellor in executing “the Blue Card” procedure. The guidance counsellor’s participation in the work of interdisciplinary teams that have been appointed by the mayor or president of the city to take action to prevent domestic violence is described. Attention is drawn to possibilities governed by law to support a child from a family affected by the violence as well as to the need for professional devel-opment of teachers in the field of “the Blue Card” procedure. Only a qualified guidance counsellor, able to work in an interdisciplinary team or a workgroup can give appropriate assistance to child victims.

The aim of the article is to analyse the career planning process and review selected forms of support. The key question is – how can one consciously shape one’s own career path? There are many different aspects to consider when choosing the right career planning strategies. Creating an individual path of professional development involves skills, abilities, qualifications and personality traits. The basic principle of planning professional development is to know your abilities and limitations to be able to improve yourself in order to give direction to your career. The article contains an overview of the activities carried out within the framework of vocational guidance addressed to young people and adults.

Celem artykułu jest analiza procesu planowania kariery zawodowej oraz przegląd wybranych form wsparcia. Jest on swoistą próbą odpowiedzi na pytanie, jak świadomie kształtować własną drogę zawodową. Wybierając odpowiednie strategie planowania własnej kariery, trzeba wziąć pod uwagę wiele różnych aspektów. Tworzenie indywidualnej ścieżki rozwoju zawodowego wiąże się z umiejętnościami, zdolnościami, kwalifikacjami, cechami osobowości. Nade wszystko podstawową zasadą planowania rozwoju zawodowego jest znajomość swoich możliwości i ograniczeń, by móc doskonalić się, nadając karierze kierunek. Artykuł zawiera przegląd działań realizowanych w ramach poradnictwa zawodowego, kierowanych zarówno do młodzieży, jak i osób dorosłych.

Christian education teachers, as well as teachers in other fields, are faced with serious challenges in the areas of teaching and educational activities such as counselling and advising. In order to meet those challenges, teachers must work in many aspects that affect the desired teaching outcome. Christian education teachers should focus on their personal development, paying close attention to the moral aspects that manifest themselves in behaviour and attitude, watching carefully their personal example as students can absorb them as their own. The next important link that can connect personal example with educational influence in such a way as to meet the modern educational challenge, is the teacher’s creativity, the kind which produces interest and creative development in students. The last element necessary to create a mature picture of a Christian education teacher is educational competence. The last component referred to, cementing the mature image of the catechist, is pedagogical competence, which is an indissoluble element of the educator's function.

Nauczyciele katecheci wespół z innymi pedagogami stoją dziś przed poważnym wyzwaniem dotyczącym działań dydaktycznych i wychowawczych. Aby im sprostać należy pracować nad wieloma czynnikami warunkującymi pożądane efekty działań katechetycznych. Nauczyciel religii winien dbać o rozwój własnej osobowości, zwracając baczną uwagę na moralne aspekty przejawiające się w postępowaniu i postawie, czuwając szczególnie nad wzorcami osobowymi, które przejąć mogą jego wychowankowie. Kolejnym znaczącym ogniwem mogącym łączyć wzorce osobowe z oddziaływaniem dydaktycznym, tak, aby sprostać współczesnym wyzwaniom pedagogicznym jest kreatywność nauczyciela, wywołująca zainteresowanie i twórczy rozwój uczniów. Ostatnim przywołanym komponentem spajającym dojrzały obraz nauczyciela katechety są kompetencje wychowawcze, które stanowią nierozerwalny element funkcji pedagoga.
