Przedmiotem artykułu są właściwości języka gwarowego, którym posługują się bohaterzy powieści Ryszarda Wytrycha Orły na śniegu oraz Czwarty grzech. Narrator wprowadza czytelnika do zagrody i domu Kobalów, pokazuje codzienne życie wszystkich członków rodziny, ich krewnych, sąsiadów i znajomych w realiach socjalistycznej Polski lat pięćdziesiątych. Zabiegi językowe mają charakter fragmentaryczny, odnoszą się wprawdzie do całości obu tekstów, ale obejmują zasadniczo tylko wypowiedzi bohaterów i to nie wszystkich. Ich obecność determinowana jest przez składniki fabularne utworów i dodatkowo wzmacnia funkcję prezentatywną. Wykładniki stylizacji gwarowej pełnią następujące funkcje: socjologiczną, tworzywową, ekspresywną i stylową.

The subject of this study is to describe the features of the subdialect that is spoken by the characters in Ryszard Wytrych’s novels Orły na śniegu and Czwarty grzech. The narrator takes the reader to the Kobalas’ enclosure and house, shows the everyday life of all family members, their relatives, neighbours and acquaintances in the reality of socialist Poland in the 1950s. Literary devices are fragmentary and despite the fact they refer to the entirety of both texts they basically involve only the utterances of some of the characters. Their presence is determined by fiction elements in the literary works and it also enhances the characterising function. The markers of subdialect style perform the following functions: sociological, formative, expressive and stylistic.
