Der Artikel setzt sich zum Ziel, die Überlegungen von Charles Taylor zu der Problematik der menschlichen Identität zu analysieren und Hauptthesen seines Antinaturalismus aufzuweisen. Aufgegriffen wird die Frage nach der Stellung des Taylorschen Gedankens im Kontext der Tradition der Phänomenologie und der hermeneutischen Philosophie. Die Kritik des Naturalismus beruht u. a. darauf, den für den Menschen konstitutiven axiologischen Horizont aufzuzeigen: den unabdingbaren Begriffsrahmen, der allen reduktionistischen Entwürfen menschlicher Natur vorangeht.

The purpose of this article is to trace Charles Taylor’s considerations concerning the issues of human identity and to show the main points of his anti-naturalist position. The Canadian philosopher’s criticism of naturalism consists, inter alia, of the identification of man’s constitutive axiological horizon – the conceptual framework, prior to any reductionist conceptions of human nature. One of the topics of the paper is to present Taylor’s thoughts within the tradition of Husserl's phenomenology and the hermeneutical philosophy of Gadamer and Heidegger. The above said category of conceptual framework is compared with Gadamer's notion of superstition (Vorurteil).

Celem artykułu jest analiza rozważań Charlesa Taylora dotyczących problematyki ludzkiej tożsamości oraz wskazanie głównych tez jego antynaturalizmu. Zostaje też podjęta kwestia pozycji myśli Taylora w horyzoncie tradycji fenomenologii oraz filozofii hermeneutycznej. Krytyka naturalizmu polega między innymi na wykazaniu konstytutywnego dla człowieka horyzontu aksjologicznego – nieusuwalnych ram pojęciowych, poprzedzających wszelkie redukcjonistyczne koncepcje natury ludzkiej.
