The matter of private lessons regardless passing of time has still been of big importance. Despite the prevalence of private lessons being common and on a bigger scale, its problematic issue seems to be ignored quite often. There is a split between their existing within grey zone of education and ignoring private lessons in public disputation. The object of this paper is to intimate the motives of benefiting from private lessons, their scale and extent, and their advantages and disadvantages.

Artykuł przedstawia ideę tutoringu możliwą do zastosowania w odniesieniu do kształcenia akademickiego. Zaprezentowana metoda może pomóc w budowaniu relacji pomiędzy pracownikami naukowymi i studentami, a tym samym przyczynić się do poprawy skuteczności i efektywności procesu dydaktycznego. Ponadto, wykorzystywanie w świadomy i zaplanowany sposób tego narzędzia przez wykładowców akademickich wpływa – co jednoznacznie pokazują badania – na indywidualny rozwój studentów. W artykule dokonano również wskazania atutów, ale i słabszych stron opisywanej metody. Z punktu widzenia świata biznesu, jak również szeroko rozumianego otoczenia społecznego, duże znaczenie ma jakość kształcenia studentów i dostosowanie ich umiejętności do oczekiwań rynku pracy. Tutoring akademicki odpowiada na te oczekiwania, dostosowując się równocześnie do możliwości i oczekiwań samych studentów. Stosowanie opisywanej praktyki ma również wpływ na atrakcyjność polskich uczelni.

This article presents the idea of tutoring, possible to apply to graduate education. The presented method can help build relationships between researchers and students, and thus contribute to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the teaching process. In addition, the use of a conscious and planned way this tool by academics, affect – which clearly show the research – the individual development of students. The article also indicate the strengths and weaknesses but this method. From the point of view of the business world, as well as the wider social environment is important to the quality of education of students and to adapt their skills to the labor market expectations. Academic Tutoring responds to these expectations, at the same time adapting to the capabilities and expectations of the students themselves. Applying the described practice also affects the attractiveness of Polish universities.

Problem korepetycji mimo upływu lat nie stracił nic ze swojej aktualności. Mimo, że zjawisko korepetycji jest powszechne, często ignoruje się jego skalę i problematyczność. Występuje ogromny rozdźwięk pomiędzy ich istnieniem w szarej strefie edukacji a pomijaniem ich w publicznej debacie. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest wskazanie motywów korzystania z korepetycji, ich zakresu oraz skali, negatywnych i pozytywnych skutków.

The problem of private tutoring has lost none of its relevance despite the passage of years. Despite the fact that taking private lessons is still prevalent, its existence and scale seem to be quite often ignored. Further, there is an inconsistent approach to this existing educational grey zone; general consent and its ignoring in public discussion. The objection of the following paper is pointing to the motives of benefiting from taking private lessons, their advantages and disadvantages as well as the scale and extent of the phenomenon.

In this paper the author tries to explore (or at least to indicate) the problem of the so-cial function of philosophy in the contemporary world. This world is characterized by universal modernization and in the last decades by globalization and unification, but at the same time also by controversies and contradictions which reveal tendencies of hu-man regression and degeneration. Philosophy must remain a study of general and fun-damental nature of a human-produced world. As such philosophy produces potentiali-ties of critical thinking, provides social investigations, and—at least in principle—gives people the power of an adequate understanding of our world, its fundamental character-istics and main tendencies. Thus philosophy is a ground for a reasonable social practice and adequate policies.

Our presentation aims at analyzing Polish and French teaching contexts of trainings in languages for specific purposes. First, we will consider the modalities for trainings in languages for specific purposes at secondary school and high school levels in order to extract features specific for educational environment in each country. Then, we will compare the results of Polish and French teaching contexts analyses to identify common and divergent points of trainings in languages for professional (specific) purpose provided in Poland and France respectively.

Celem niniejszego tekstu jest analiza kontekstu nauczania języków specjalistycznych w Polsce i we Francji. W artykule omówione zostaną warunki kształcenia w zakresie języków specjalistycznych na poziomie szkół średnich i wyższych pod kątem specyficznych cech charakteryzujących obserwowane środowiska edukacyjne. Podjęta również zostanie próba porównania polskiego i francuskiego kontekstu nauczania tak, aby wyłonić podobieństwa i różnice istniejące w ofercie językowego kształcenia dla potrzeb zawodowych w obydwu wskazanych krajach.

L’article a pour objectif d’analyser les contextes d’enseignement des langues de spécialité en Pologne et en France. Nous examinerons les modalités de formation en langues de spécialité au niveau des écoles secondaires et supérieures en vue d’en extraire des traits spécifiques relatifs à chacun des milieux éducatifs en question. Nous mettrons ensuite en comparaison les résultats de l’analyse des contextes d’enseignement polonais et français afin d’identifier les éléments communs ou divergents des formations langagières à objectif professionnel qui sont proposées dans les deux pays en question.

The article discusses higher education in engineering and technology of the second generation of the Polish Great Emigration in France. It begins with an overview of the network of grandes écoles functioning in the second half of the 19th century, admission and study rules, and the position of these schools within the entire system of higher education. Then it presents the biographies of outstanding graduates of the Polish émigré school at Batignolles, who managed to enrol at the government schools in question. Selected, little-known careers of émigré students are shown as part of the upward mobility trend within the whole generation. The author also tackles the problem of preserving Polish national identity in the context of France’s cultural elite.

Raphael Lemkin (1900–1959), a Polish-born jurist and Holocaust survior lead an extraordinary life of struggle – to educate the world about genocide and create mechanisms to punish perpetrators .Because of that his „Totally Unofficial. The Autobiography of Raphael Lemkin” draws attention. While writing about the book Bogdan Grzeloński gives a spotlight to these issues and events that Lemkins is silent about. Based on the newest resarch and publications he presents in detail the beginnings of Lemkins University education. He explains why Lemkn resigned from the prosecutors office and became lawyer. He describes how Lemkin was consistently building his position among the lawyers in Europe. He presents new fact about how Lemkins managed to save himself from Holocaust and flee from two aggressors, German and Soviet, that invaded Poland. And how, thanks to his acqauitance with the prominent Swedish laywer Karl Schlyter Lemkin first go to Stockholm and later emigrated to the United States. Finally Bogdan Grzeloński gives an account of Lemkins involment in the establishment of the Nuerenberg Tribunal. He is of the opinion, that even if many facts were omitted from this work, it dosent diminish its signifance. Raphael Lemkin autobiography is still an extraordinary book.
