In the economy of many countries, the hotel trade is included to one form the most dynamically developing of industry. A sharpening constantly is a consequence of the height of the number of the number of hotels between individual buildings, however it is beneficial for the key prospects which can fit the departure and the stay to personal needs and to the thickness of the wallet. Hotels are competing not only in terms of prices, the location of objects , the equipment and the standard, but also ancillary services which a given hotel can offer are becoming more and more important. Possibility of using such ancillary services as: meeting halls, back of the biological regeneration, swimming pools, beauty parlours, became the important factor deciding on the rank and selection of the hotel by the customer in the today.

Ze względu na ścisłe powiązanie prawidłowego funkcjonowania hoteli ze zmianami zachodzącymi w gospodarce istotne jest badanie preferencji użytkowników bazy noclegowej w zakresie potrzebnych usług i oferty. Informacje winny posłużyć nie tylko menedżerom i specjalistom od marketingu, ale przede wszystkim architektom, którzy projektując obiekty, powinni tworzyć budynki służące przez kolejne dziesięciolecia. W niniejszym artykule przedstawiono ankietę dotyczącą preferencji użytkowników hoteli w zakresie produktu i usług oraz jej wyniki. Badania objęły: lokalizację placówek noclegowych, ich standard, preferencje estetyczne (architektoniczne) użytkowników, układy przestrzenne i funkcjonalne. W podsumowaniu wykazano bardzo wyraźnie rysujące się tendencje, jakim podlegać będzie branża hotelarska w najbliższych latach w Polsce, oraz zaznaczono obszary problematyki, w których należy wzmocnić wiedzę społeczeństwa.

Due to a close link between a proper functioning of hotels with changes in the economy, it is important to study preferences of accommodation facilities users as regards needed services and offer. This information should be used not only by managers and marketers but in particular by architects who should design buildings for the next decades. This article presents a survey on hotel users preferences on the product and services, as well as its results. The scope of the study included: location of accommodation facilities, their standard aesthetic (architectural) preferences of users, the spatial and functional arrangement. In conclusion, some very clear trends were outlined, which will be visible in the hotel industry during upcoming years in Poland. Also selected problem areas in which there is a need of increasing public knowledge were stressed.
