W artykule zaprezentowano metodę oraz wstępne wyniki badań współczesnych zespołów mieszkaniowych na obszarze Górnośląskiego Związku Metropolitalnego. Przeprowadzone przez autorów artykułu badania mają na celu konfrontację najnowszych realizacji z podstawowymi elementami teorii urbanistyki. Gromadzony materiał badawczy poddany zostaje analizie ilościowej i jakościowej, co pozwoli autorom przedstawić syntetyczny obraz współcześnie realizowanej zabudowy mieszkaniowej. Efektem końcowym trwających badań jest utworzenie katalogu realizacji mieszkaniowych opatrzonego komentarzem. Katalog posłuży jako materiał dydaktyczny w procesie kształcenia architektów i urbanistów, a także może być pomocny podmiotom prywatnym i publicznym w procesie planowania zabudowy mieszkaniowej. W artykule przedstawiono obecne tendencje panujące we współczesnym budownictwie mieszkaniowym, metodę badań wraz z uzasadnieniem przyjętych kryteriów doboru i wskaźników oraz karty katalogowe wybranych realizacji

This paper presents a method and preliminary results of the studies on modern housing complexes erected on the area of the Upper Silesian Metropolitan Association. Research conducted by the authors was intended to compare the most recently built complexes to basic elements of the theory of urban planning. The collected research material was subjected to quantitative and qualitative analyses, which allowed the authors to present a synthetic picture of modern housing solutions. Creation of a catalogue of housing solutions, with commentaries, will be the final outcome of the ongoing research. The catalogue will be used for teaching purposes in the process of architect and urban planner education, and it can also be helpful in housing estate planning by private and public entities. This paper presents the current trends dominating in housing, the research method, with the justification of the assumed indicators and their selection criteria, and the catalogue cards of the selected estates.
