Personal demand for information and opinions seems to be constantly increasing in the age of digital media. Artificial intelligence (AI) is a new milestone for the constantly developing media. The influence of artificial intelligence on journalism is an interesting subject for research. Although, the main field of reflection should be focused on infoethics. Automation anxiety, means the fear of automation, accompanies journalists more and more frequently. For some, robotization of journalism is only a way to save money in the newsroom, and for others a catalyst for algorithm bias, contributes to the formation of an information bubble, causes a confirmation effect and fosters the generation of so-called deep fakes. Still other opinions indicate the positive side of the process, e.g. greater transparency of journalism and the discovery by AI of such connections between facts that would never have been discovered otherwise. So is there a space left in the media of the Web 3.0 era for a journalist’s personality, reflection, responsibility for the word and personalism? These problems are key at the beginning of the third decade of the 21st century.

Debacie autorytetów, publicystów i dziennikarzy towarzyszy opis aktualnego stanu polskiej opinii publicznej w kwestii sztucznego zapłodnienia.

In recent years, the Polish press has devoted a great deal of attention to the question of IVF (in vitro fertilization) thus revealing the level of public awareness on the issue and exposing the controversy in world-view matters among Polish public opinion. Taking into account the content and clarity of selected articles in the last few years, one can claim that the heated debate requires a more in–depth analysis. The issues raised in the debate among experts and journalists are accompanied by a description of the current state of Polish public opinion on the problem of IVF. The secular press often dismisses the ethical argument related to the dignity of the human person and the protection of embryos in an attempt to influence public opinion. This begs the question: Does political correctness and acceptance of IVF upheld by the secular media place the very cautious Christian approach to biomedical technology on the losing side? Nowadays, the general public sees the need for high ethical standards in the daily work of journalists which Benedict XV1 referred to in general terms as infoethics. Otherwise, there is a danger of the public not being adequately informed. In this case, the consequences of the media’s failures may lead to widespread bitterness in the foreseeable future. It is believed that the media debate on IVF will become a true test of journalistic integrity.

Zmiany charakteru pracy dziennikarza to powód formułowania uzupełnionych kodeksów etycznych. Same zasady w nich formułowane jednak nie wystarczą.

Due to the appearance of new information technologies which contain specific characteristics, the sphere of modern media needs to re-engage with the issues of media ethics, particularly the ethics of journalism. Therefore, Pope Benedict XVI presented a postulate on infoethics. Infoethics is not a new field, but rather, it draws on the Law of God and the achievements of Christian ethics as well as the ethics of journalism. Thus, we treat it on the one hand as normative ethics with standard values and on the other hand as moral law which draws on the foundations of Christian thought. Within this framework, infoethics concerns unprecedented problems for both the Internet and traditional media. Changes in the nature of the journalist’s work are reason for the formulation of supplemental codes of ethics. The same principles of formulation, however, are not enough. Therefore, the primary criterion of infoethics, and of all ethical conduct, is love.
