The contribution discusses the nature of the information privacy as a form of privacy, which is by its position close to the issues of personal data protection. The reader is first presented with privacy as one of the components of the general personality right and then further acquainted with various perspectives on classification and definition of this phenomenon. Following this introduction into the topic comes a discussion of the information privacy in the attempt for definition of its specific nature and delimitation of the boundaries of this element of privacy in comparison to the remaining ones through identification of prerequisites for a harmful interference, which does not touch upon other rights or components of the general personality right of a person.

Příspěvek diskutuje povahu informačního soukromí jakožto formy soukromí, která je svým postavením blízká problematice ochrany osobních údajů. Čtenáři je nejprve představeno soukromí jako jedna ze složek všeobecného osobnostního práva a následně je seznámen s různými náhledy na klasifikaci a vymezení tohoto fenoménu. Po tomto úvodu do problematiky je diskutováno informační soukromí ve snaze o vymezení jeho specifické podstaty a stanovení hranic této složky soukromí oproti jiným skrze určení předpokladů škodlivého zásahu, který se nedotýká jiných práv či složek všeobecného osobnostního práva člověka.
