The terms T and V, based on the Latin pronouns tu and vos, are more connected with a specified society and its culture than with the language they belong to. The terms concern human behaviours and interpersonal relations and they change constantly as the relations evolve. The system of T‑V terms in European Portuguese is very rich, that is why its teaching is a true challenge. It is not really about the lexical terms, it is a combination of pragmatics and sociocultural factors, which, connected to them, promotes the creation and the maintenance of cooperative domain as the first step to a successful communication essential in the usage of the language. To be so, the lexical T‑V terms, as well as the pragmatics and sociocultural factors, create the unique matter of teaching/learning at classes of Portuguese as a foreign language.

The article looks at an analysis of trust issues among Soka Gakkai members in Italy. The organization is made up of official members and neophytes, who interact on a daily basis in an informal environment, with a high degree of intimacy and familiarity. Trust among members can be considered a core issue, and is seen as being composed of an instrumental element. This paper deals with how this component influences relationships between members in terms of economic practices and mutual assistance. Starting from the assumption that Soka Gakkai affiliates are able to manipulate interactions in order to achieve goals which may not strictly comply with the aims of the organization itself, the article makes clear how the confidence created by the shared religious experience fosters frequent economic transactions, work affiliations and general economic support.

This article is a part of research project that focuses on citations in media coverage in Poland after 1989; two earlier installments of the article have been included in earlier publications of “Poznańskie Studia Polonistyczne”. Part Three provides a discussion on and characteristics of the category of the average man in the street, ordinary people whose utterances are increasingly included in the journalistic narration. Taking the notion of everyday life, with which the demand for an ordinary man in the media is closely linked, as a starting point in the discussion, the authors proceed to characterize citations, along with their explanatory attributions, indicate their textual functions and analyse the categories that are revealed within the process: anonymity, transparency and singularity.
