The article discusses synthetically four main types of innovative processes in the Polish language after 1989. They involve: borrowings from the English language, their adaptations and blending with the Polish terminology, words and colloquial expressions; morphological, semantic and idiomatic neologisms. New lexical units reflect language creativity while they are also used to reproduce the picture of the world which characterizes the language at that stage of development.
