Niniejszy artykuł jest wynikiem poszukiwania przez autorkę takiej kategorii badawczej, która umożliwi ukazanie wielowymiarowości, enigmatyczności i złożoności przestrzeni społecznej szkoły, a szczególnie tych elementów, które są ukryte, niedostrzegalne „gołym okiem”. Pierwsza część artykułu to próba pokazania wybranych przykładów poszukiwania przez badaczy ukrytych, nieoczywistych elementów przestrzeni szkoły. Autorka przytacza badania koncentrujące się na analizie klimatu szkoły, jej kultury organizacyjnej a także ukrytego programu szkoły. Druga część tekstu to propozycja zestawienia i jednoczesnego poszukiwania związków pomiędzy pojęciami: „przestrzeń społeczna”, „środowisko niewidzialne” i „instytucja symboliczna”, które to wydają się najpełniej oddawać to, co ukryte i niewidzialne a jednocześnie najbardziej istotne w szkolnej rzeczywistości.

This article is the result of the author’s search for such a research category that will make it possible to show the multidimensionality, complexity and enigmatic nature of the social space of school and especially those elements that are hidden and invisible to the naked eye. The first part of the article is an attempt to show some examples of the scientific research for hidden, non-obvious elements of the school space. The author cites studies focusing on the analysis of school climate, its organizational culture and the hidden curriculum. The second part of the text is a proposal of a juxtaposition and simultaneous search for relationships between the concepts of “social space,” “invisible environment” and “a symbolic institution,” which seem to provide the fullest view of what is concealed and invisible, and at the same time the most important in the school reality.
