Przewagę konkurencyjną przedsiębiorstw obecnie gwarantuje wiedza, w tym umiejętności transferu technologii i innowacji. Współcześnie czynniki produkcji mają ogromne znaczenie, ale pierwotną, najwyższa wartość przypisuje się wiedzy w knowledge societies (w społeczeństwach opartych na wiedzy). Kapitał intelektualny staje się najcenniejszym zasobem przedsiębiorstwa, przesądzającym o jego kondycji ekonomicznej i społecznej. Zasadniczą kwestią ekonomiczną społeczną kulturalną i polityczną w procesie zarządzania wiedzą jest kształtowanie struktur wertykalnych. Ze względu na niskie niezbędne nakłady finansowe do rozwoju struktur wertykalnych i relatywnie proste, a w każdym razie relatywnie mało kosztownie technologie, istnieje łatwość włączenia się w kooperacje z tymi strukturami przedsiębiorstw lokalnych. Przykładem znaczenia sieciowych relacji międzyorganizacyjnych jest powiat konecki położony na północy województwa świętokrzyskiego, w sąsiedztwie województw mazowieckiego i łódzkiego.

At present, the competitive advantage of enterprises is guaranteed by knowledge they have, including technology transfer and innovation skills. Nowadays, production factors are of great significance, but the primary and supreme value in knowledge society belongs to the knowledge. The intellectual capital is becoming the most valuable resource of an enterprise, determining its economic and social conditions. The fundamental economic, social, cultural and political issue in knowledge management process is shaping the vertical structures. Due to small financial outlays necessary for development of such a structures caused by relatively simple and cost-efficient technologies, it is easy to cooperate with such structures of local enterprises. The article shows an example of importance of inter-organisational network relations in the Końskie Poviat located in the north of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship and next to the Mazowieckie and Łódzkie Voivodeships.
