For fifty years since its establishment in the early 1890s, the Czechoslavic Ethnographical Society was the principal representative of the field in the area of present-day Czech Republic and Slovakia. It was the centre of folk culture research; no other comparably significant institution existed in this area. The history of the Czechoslavic Ethnographical Society is interwoven with interdisciplinary relationships. The reason is that the people, who had helped to create this association up to the 1930s, did not engage themselves fully and professionally in ethnography as their only or at least main discipline. It was due to the fact that there was sparsely any workplace where they could find any existential and scholarly background. Inspiration was thus brought in by people from different fields that had a close relationship to folk culture. The same went for principal bodies of this ethnographical institution which were formed by experts from different disciplines, including the membership base which often counted above a thousand people actively interested in folk culture. the leadership of the society endeavoured to actively employ these people, often experts from different disciplines or significant regional workers, in documentation of folk culture. This was apparent predominantly during preparation and compilation of ethnographical encyclopaedia in the 1920s and 1930s. Although it remained unfinished, it has been one of the chief projects of Czech ethnography in its history.

Face to face with the variety of psychosocial problems which impact lives of children and the young, it is the need for interdisciplinary approach which is increasingly emphasized. Crisis situations such as bullying, parental divorce or violence in the family require that teachers cooperate with professionals rather than deal with the situation in isolation and intuitively. It is the aim of the paper to outline the import of situations of crisis in lives of people and the need for interdisciplinary cooperation for instance in cases of home violence or the CAN syndrome. To receive professional help, such as in a crisis centre providing help for children, the student must first get in touch with a so-called first-contact professional, who cannot deal with the problem in its entirety but can identify it. First-contact professionals are mostly teachers or physicians. Comprehensive care of a team of professionals is what the child receives then, the two first-contact professionals being its important members. What does this cooperation look like in practice? Which obstacles and hindrances may occur? Which are the competencies and obligations of teachers dealing with situations of this kind? The 42 theoretical-critical study outlines the possible answers. It may be said that dealing with psychosocial problems of children and the young has its “blind spots”, the insufficient social communication between the individual participants of the “therapeutic process” being among them. The process inevitably includes teaching staff, who are in everyday contact with the pupils and students at risk.

To understand metamorphoses of the methods and research subject matters in Czech ethnography in the second half of the 20th century, it is necessary to search an answer to a question, whether there existed any continuity with the scientific discourse in the Euro-american scientific milieu. It was the pupils of Antonín Václavík in the 1960’s who endeavored to build such continuity, despite the restrictions imposed by the totalitarian regime, in the newly established review Ethnographical News (nowadays the Ethnographical review) and in the re-established Czechoslovak Ethnographical Bulletin in 1966-1972. In spite of all the problems, the Brno university department of ethnography survived purges from the end of the 1960’s and from the beginning of the 1970’s. Under the leaderhip of Richard Jeřábek, they gradually stabilized their activities within the framework of the comparative approach to European ethnology. Karel Fojtík, no matter how his works were products of their time, understood the general tendency of Czech ethnography, when he wrote that the professionally organized listing of material became a reliable base of the theoretical studies, whose necessity was lately emphasized by Chris Hann in the sociological review in 2007.

Bearing in mind the interdisciplinary nature of the origin of Slavs, in the process of reviewing the issue in relation with archaeology, the debate and the results of research carried out by representatives of other areas of science must be taken into consideration. The goal of this article is a review of the published results of an analysis of fossil and contemporary genetic material, coupled with discussing interpretation thereof in relation with the issue at hand. The work presents a selection of surveys which, according to the author, provide representatives of humanities with insight into the latest state of research. The presentation is preceded by introductory information about the examined material and the analysis methods as well as the conditioning factors. A methodological challenge was faced in the form of connecting data provided by geneticists and the findings from other disciplines, including archaeology, as indicated in the final part of the article.

The purpose of study is to identify the readiness of selected future specialists (final year students specialising in the relative area) to prevent Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) syndrome. Empirical part of this thesis covers quantitative interviews implemented by `CAWI. The subject group was a convenience sample of 579 students. Students from the following faculties participated: Charles University – Medicine 1., 2., 3. Medical, Medicine in H. Kralove and Plzen, Law, Educational Studies, Philosophy and Human Resources. Five hundred seventy nine students of the selected faculties of Charles University were contacted. The questionnaire that was used comprised of different parts, in which both closed as well as open-ended type of questions were used. The scale was used in the analysis of the primary outcome measures. The absolute frequency, relative frequency, cumulative frequency, independent chi square, analysis of variance medium and sample standard deviation were determined. Both tables and graphs were used to show the frequencies distribution. The standard of minimal knowledge/training was established based on the results. Recommendations were made as to the means for facilitating functional interdisciplinary collaborations. The recommendations presented in this thesis are fundamental and are intended to be used by University professors of the above mentioned Universities. The standard includes fundamental terminology and logistics. The ultimate goal of this work is provide specifix solutions and grounds for development of this information within the faculties in question.

In the present study cooperation among scholars from different theoretical backgrounds proves to be a means to provide new views on areas of philological research. Thus, a review of historical pragmatics is presented, focusing on its development and how it overcomes handicaps when dealing with remote periods of language. Taking drama into consideration, as one of the most adequate genres for this discipline, cooperation between textual criticism and historical linguistics enables the use of highly reliable corpora in historical pragmatics. The analyses of the pragmatic markers hola and adiós in Calderón de la Barca’s plays demonstrates the results of this interdisciplinary cooperation.

The subject of the report is an ongoing project which began in 2017 and aims to popularize knowledge about the Constitution of the Republic of Poland through the use of infographics. This project – implemented by students and academics of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Adam Mickiewicz University (Poznań, Poland) and the Information Design Studio of the University of Arts Poznan – became for the authors (a lawyer, graphic designers, and a sociologist) an opportunity to consider legal awareness, the usefulness of visual communication for educational purposes, the opportunities and dilemmas of interpersonal cooperation, and above all the complicated relations between word and image.
