Zamierzeniem niniejszego tekstu jest zaprezentowanie założeń teoretycznych i metodologicznych projektu badawczego pt. „Autobiografie matek”. Jego cele koncentrują się na poznaniu wybranych, spisanych przez badane kobiety autobiografii. Równie ważne są także cele o charakterze społecznym, tj. uwrażliwienie na losy (edukacyjne i zawodowe) matek oraz pobudzenie autorefleksji badanych kobiet nad własnym życiem. Zastosowanym podejściem badawczym jest podejście autobiograficzne z wykorzystaniem materiałów wizualnych, w którym badacz występuje w podwójnej roli – podmiotu poznającego oraz poznawanego. Prócz zaprezentowania teoretycznych i metodologicznych założeń projektu, autorka podejmuje próbę krytycznej analizy kolejnych etapów projektu.

The aim of this text is to present the theoretical and methodological assumptions of the research project entitled „Autobiographies of women as mothers”. Its goal is focused on researching personal autobiographies written by selected women. The social goals are equally important: they include demonstrating the importance of educational and professional experiences of women as mothers and provoking self-reflection concerning life in the researched women. The auto/ biographical approach has been chosen as the research approach and it includes the usage of visual material, in which the researcher plays a double role – of the investigating as well as the investigated subject. Apart from presenting theoretical and methodological foundations of the project, the author attempts to perform critical analysis of the consecutive stages of the project.
