The author of the article shows the threads inspiring the ecumenical vocation of one of the basic authors of Catholic theology dealing with the issues of ecumenism, Yves Congar (1905-1988). Presenting this context allows us to capture the circumstances of the creation of the work that is a milestone in Catholic reflection on this matter: Chrétiens désunis. Principes d'un «œcuménisme» catholique (1937) and an outline of the later evolution of its author's views.

To the 10 th Assembly of the World Council of Churches in Busan, Republic of Korea (30 October to 8 November 2013) we owe two particularly important doc- uments which are relevant to the problem of ecological crisis and endangered hu- man environment. They are: the convergence text The Church: Towards a Com- mon Vision and Unity Statement. The first one is a result of many years’ work of the Commission Faith and Order. In both documents one can see a profound preoccupation of Christian Churches about the integrity of the whole creation of God. As creation has been misused, Christians are not allowed to remain indiffer- ent to this fact. We truly live today “in the tension between the profoundest hope and the deepest despair”. To this urgent issue the author devotes his reflections in the following points: the divine plan for the universe; our faults concerning the divine gift of life; God wants reconciliation for the whole of creation; continuation of some earlier initia- tives undertaken by the WCC to protect the creation; towards a new sensibility to the fate of the creation; the nature itself teaches us humility. God is the ultimate future of all his creatures. “The New Testament ends with the vision of a new heaven and a new earth, transformed by the grace of God (cf. Rev. 21:1–22:5). This new cosmos is promised for the end of history but is already present in an anticipatory way even now...” (Towards a Common Vision, par. 69).
Opisując proces wprowadzania zmiany w systemie społecznej działalności młodzieży przedstawiamy kluczowe komponenty badań interwencyjnych takie, jak: identyfikowanie i rozwiązywanie sprzeczności w systemach działalności, praca z obiektem, praca węzłowa.
The aim of this article is to show what impact the crisis in the European Union, along with the crisis in the euro zone at the forefront, had on European identity, interwoven with the identity of the European Union to such an extent that these terms are often handled as equivalent. Developments and crises situations which exert an influence on European identity were presented with respect to areas of particular importance that affect the way the European Union is identified within the community and abroad. Following issues were discussed: implications of the crisis for the European Union’s international identity, for the European social model (welfare state), for transnational identity (in internal relations) and for unity and solidarity in the European Union. In the conclusion, it is stated that the economic, political and social crises had undermined the gradual development of European / European Union identity among citizens and had an impact on its image in international relations.
“Sound doctrine,” present in the Pastoral Epistles, contains the most community-creating element that strengthens the communion of persons related to admonishment by the author of the inspired text directed at two Church leaders: Timothy and Titus. Both of them have the important task of caring for the “sound principles” among their subordinates, for pure doctrine that does not wander among unimportant matters, showing the most essential aims of human life and for increasing faith in Christ and His kingdom. The text of this article has been divided into three parts dealing with the adjective “sound”: διδασκαλία – the entire moral teaching; λόγος – the words, by which the authentic truth of salvation is proclaimed; and πίστις, the belief that simultaneously transmits and inspires neighbors. They are a sum total of one “sound doctrine” of the apostolic Church strengthened through God’s inspiration.

„Zdrowa doktryna” obecna w Listach Pasterskich zawiera najbardziej wspólnototwórczy i umacniający komunię osób element pouczenia autora natchnionego skierowanego do dwóch przełożonych Kościoła: Tymoteusza i Tytusa.
The Christian churches collaborate in the eradication of everything that moves the presence of the Kingdom of God away from this world. A clear example has been the last assembly of the World Council Churches held in Busan, South Korea, where the concrete commitment was assumed by all the churches. This is expressed in the Unity Statement. Article discusses the theological context of the social thought of the ecumenical movement and it presents how this thought is exemplified by the World Council of Churches.

The communion of the people of God is a community of people saved by Christ, regenerated and anointed with the Holy Spirit who unites them and preserves them in diversity. The communion of the faithful is realized in the pneumatohagic institutional structure of the Church. The Holy Spirit is the source of the communal wealth of gifts and charisms that serve the communional unity of Christians. The Holy Spirit is also the guarantor of the subjectivity of the Church and the individual faithful who make her up.

Duch Święty jest gwarantem podmiotowości Kościoła i tworzących go poszczególnych wiernych.
Contemporary life of the Church, against the background of dynamic cultural changes of the surrounding society, is marked by an urgent call to discover and value the community dimension, to the mysticism of living together. In view of the spread of spirituality of communion, a question arises about the corresponding asceticism, about the specific forms of purification and spiritual trials that it may encounter. From this perspective, we read the experience of the Focolare Movement, referring primarily to the writings of its founder, Chiara Lubich. The reflection revolves around two basic concepts that relate to the mystical and ascetic dimensions: unity – Jesus forsaken.

Taking up the value of confessio iudicialis and the other proofs for declaring a marriage null and voit in the short bishop process, the author begins his reflections with a look at one of the marriage property that is marriage unity. From the point of view of marriage validity, of special significance is also the analysis of confessio iudicialis and testimonies in the Code of Canon Law from 1983. The last part of the author’s reflections is devoted to the analysis of judge presumptions and causes of simulation of marriage, according to Pope’s Francis Mitis Iudex Dominus Iesus.

In the article the issue of community evangelization springing from the Church’s experience of communion is undertaken. In its initial part the concepts of evangelization and the Church’s communion are precisely defined. Then the author stresses that the Church by its nature has the character of community, which results from both the social nature of man and God’s idea to lead people to salvation not individually, but as a community. Small Christian communities have a special place in the work of evangelization, and it is in them that the Church’s shepherds see one of the most important signs of its revival. It is exactly them that allow to keep and develop faith in the modern world, and at the same time they become dynamic circles involved in evangelization. They give the world a testimony of unity and of Christian love. This love is expressed in preaching the truth of the Gospel, it is fed and consolidated by common celebration of liturgy, and it is made concrete by the service to all people, especially the ones afflicted with suffering.
Różnice w wierze i rywalizacja w praktycznej działalności misyjnej budziły nieufność u ludów ewangelizowanych. Wołanie o jedność Kościołów chrześcijańskich, co prawda przede wszystkim w dziedzinie praktycznej pomocy, stanowiło naturalny odruch młodych Kościołów i prowadzących w nich akcję ewangelizacyjną misjonarzy. Instytucjonalne oblicze ekumenizmu; 2. Ekumenizm i Prawosławie; 3. Vaticanum II i ekumenizm rzymskokatolicki; 4. Zaangażowanie w dialog; 5. Ekumeniczna nadzieja; 6. Zakończenie.

The objective of this article is to present a historical fact, which is known among ecumenists, that the beginnings of the ecumenical movement at the end of the 19th century overlap with the search for Christian unity within missionary involvement. Contemporary ecumenical movement started within evangelical Christians. The attempts to unify Christians before the Edinburgh Conference (Scotland, 1910) are described as “preecumenism”. They were usually limited to solidarity within social and charity activities undertaken on missionary territories. The 19th century was the period of the flourishing of Protestant missions. Missionary territories appealed to their mother churches for unity, the lack of which was the obstacle to missionary activity. Differences in faith and rivalry in practical activities caused mistrust among evangelized peoples. The call for the unity of the Church, first in the area of practical help, was a natural impulse of young churches and missionaries who were evangelizing them. Those voices could not be left unanswered in the churches in Europe and North America which sponsored missionary activity in India, Asia and Africa. The article consists of the following parts: 1. Institutional aspect of ecumenism; 2. Ecumenism and the Orthodox Church; 3. Vatican II and Roman Catholic ecumenism; 4. Involvement in dialogue; 5. Ecumenical hope; 6. End.

The aim of this paper is to account for the fact that the cross as a symbol has a polarising effect on contemporary Polish society. The analysis takes into account various events from recent national history. Juxtaposing the universal, soteriological dimension of the symbol of the cross with numerous instances of its exploitation in the political debate shows that the spiritual and religious meaning of this sacred sign has been largely distorted. The Scriptures offer many examples of misuse of religious symbols. There are three conditions to be met if the use of the cross in a debate is to be considered just: the call to moral change, honest intention and recognition of God as the supreme authority. Jesus perfectly fulfilled all these. Following Christ means being able to give one’s love generously and to obey the divine precepts. The Christian hope is based on the belief that the unity of the order of creation (also the national unity) is superior to the temporal and worldly divisions among people.

In the age of globalisation the changes of social life are characterised by a dynamic aspiration for democracy understood as a political system enabling individual citizens and all societies to participate in creating and respecting the common good. On the other hand they are characterised by a deep anthropological crisis. This crisis leads to a rapid people migration. Such migration change culture of the societies involved. Facing these facts we should ask a question about directions of upbringing and education which prepares young generations to live an active and responsible life in society. The author of this article presents experience of the Focolare Movement concerning its involvement in common good in the diverse cultural environments of different parts of the world. The crucial in this experience is the role of community either in forming pro-social attitude or in acting. On the basis of this experience the Movement of has developed a pedagogy of unity which is standing on the ground of relational and transcendental dimension of a human being and of the value of community as an upbringing environment. This pedagogy as well as pro-social activities of the Movement promotes the culture of relationship which underlines pedagogical value of dialogue, mutual respect and transcending ourselves in search to find good, truth and beauty in each human being. Pedagogy of unity as well as the experience of the Movement can be a valuable source of inspiration not only for Polish pedagogy but also for each personalistically oriented style of upbringing.
