This paper discusses the possibilities of using external resources of supply means in the process of logistic support for military divisions and subdivisions. It focuses on supply means needs, which can be met by means of external logistic resources. The goal of the paper is to identify the types of supply means (material resources) and their quantity, which can be acquired from civil installation resources located in a theatre of operations. The analyses concerning the possibilities of using external resources were based on command post exercises conducted between 2013 and 2016. The issues touched in this paper are important in the context of the availability of resources, which makes armed forces operations effective and sufficient in the territory of the state. The fundamental types of material resources, which might be used within a military logistics system, are groceries and liquid fuels.
