The problem of renvoi is a problem of coordination of legal systems. Such coordination is not necessary any more as legal systems are subject to growing unification in unified private international law. If in this system of unification, however, the law of third states is governing, renvoi may be necessary as soon as international harmony of decisions and basic principles of the law of conflict of laws are not violated. As the European Union is about to get a unified code of private international law, renvoi will only be applied in cases governed by the law of third states.

Problém zpětného odkazu (renvoi) je problémem koordinace právních systémů. Taková koordinace není nutná, jakmile je kolizní právo sjednoceno. K tomuto stavu postupně spěje Evropská unie, jež hodlá unifikovat i obecnou část mezinárodního práva soukromého. Potom bude zpětný odkaz potřebný jen v případě, že rozhodným kolizním právem bude právo třetího státu.
