In the late 18th and early 19th century a particular conception of the journal emerged within early Romantic German circles as a universal encyclopedia bringing together both art and sciences. This study follows the influence of this idea and its variants within the Central European and Czech context, where it gained ground, particularly in the case of Časopis českého Musea and Krok. These Czech periodicals had the basic characteristics of this kind of journal: their establishment is understood to be a culturally and nationally representative act, and their production is characterized by typical tension between the artistic and scientific elements. Above all they became important distributors of various forms of Romantic discourse.

Na přelomu 18. a 19. století byl v okruhu německé rané romantiky rozvinut specifický koncept časopisu jako univerzální encyklopedie slučující oblast umění a vědy. Studie sleduje působnost tohoto konceptu a jeho variant ve středoevropském a českém kontextu, kde se prosazuje zejména v případě Časopisu českého Musea a Kroku. Tato česká periodika splňují základní charakteristiky daného typu časopisu: jejich založení je chápáno jako kulturně a národně reprezentativní akt, jejich produkce se vyznačuje typickým napětím mezi uměleckou a vědeckou složkou a především se stávají podstatnými distributory různých podob romantického diskurzu.

The article deals with the issue of commercialization of the process of gamete donation in the Czech Republic and neighbouring countries with the help of analysis and comparison of the relevant legislation. It shows that the absence of clear rules at the European level leads to the fact that national legislators can make the generally formulated requirements for preserving altruism and solidarity of donation more specific. However, in the cases at hand, this leads to the setting of vague rules, which are then shaped by the reproductive clinics themselves through the provision of lump sums of money, which, although formally described as compensation for the costs and inconveniences associated with donation, due to their amount and the way they are promoted, indicate that they are more likely to be rewards of a market as well as incentive nature.

Článek se za pomoci analýzy a komparace dotčené právní úpravy zabývá problematikou komercializace procesu dárcovství pohlavních buněk v České republice a okolních státech. Ukazuje, že absence jednoznačných pravidel na evropské úrovni vede k tomu, že národní zákonodárci mohou všeobecně formulované požadavky na zachování altruismu a solidarity dárcovství konkretizovat. To však v řešených případech vede k nastavení vágních pravidel, která jsou poté dotvářena samotnými reprodukčními klinikami, a to skrze poskytování paušálních finančních částek, které jsou sice formálně označovány jako náhrada výdajů a nepříjemností spojených s darováním, ale jejich výše a způsob propagace svědčí o tom, že se jedná spíše o odměnu mající nejen motivační, ale také tržní charakter.
