W artykule dokonuję analizy wybranych zagadnień dotyczących wyzwań i zadań stojących przed edukacją i szkołą – w obliczu turbulentnych przemian i potrzeb współczesnego rynku pracy. Omawiam problematykę przygotowania ucznia do samodzielnego planowania kariery edukacyjno-zawodowej poprzez kształtowanie kompetencji kariery i budowanie przez ucznia jego osobistego kapitału kariery1. Zwracam uwagę na wybrane aspekty dotyczące wskazanej problematyki, podkreślając przede wszystkim wagę rozwijania podmiotowości, kreatywności i innowacyjności ucznia, jak również stymulowania jego dobrostanu psychospołecznego. Przyjmuję tezę, że wymienione kompetencje stanowią istotny element budowania jednostkowego kapitału kariery i służą lepszemu przygotowaniu człowieka do planowania i zarządzania własną karierą zawodową, szczególnie w kontekście uwarunkowań współczesnego rynku pracy.

The article analyzes a selection of issues concerning the challenges and tasks facing education and schools - in the face of turbulent change and the needs of the modern labour market. It also discusses the issues of preparing students for independent educational and professional career planning and through the development of career competences and building the student's personal career capital. An emphasis is put on certain aspects of the indicated issues especially on the importance of developing subjectivity, creativity and innovation of students, as well as on the stimulation of their psychosocial well-being. It is theorised as well that these competencies are an important part of building an individual career capital and of better preparation to plan and manage their own career, particularly in the context of the conditions of the modern labour market.
