The article discusses current and important for society and education issues of lifelong learning, which is now one of the essential tasks of universities. The author justifies the need to use a computer-assisted lifelong learning as an element that could improve the situation of older people in the labour market. There were presented some selected changes in the structure of society and the consequent implications for education. This article contains information about documents, highlighting the important role of ICT in the process of lifelong education. It shows the potential of ICT and the possibilities of using distance learning by implementing educational platforms.
